Traveling to Anaktuvuk Pass

The village of Anaktuvuk Pass is a great place to start your exploration of Gates of the Arctic. Anaktuvuk Pass is accessible by commercial air service from Fairbanks and hosts a ranger station staffed by national park rangers during the summer season. A small village off of the road system, Anaktuvuk Pass does have limited services available to visitors. We flew from Anchorage to Fairbanks then Fairbanks to Anaktuvuk Pass via Wright Air Service.

Went to a friends wedding there in 1976, no real roads, no power lines, sod homes and many of the residents had migrated with the caribou in their youth.
