Hi Nizr. I'm not a doctor, so I might be wrong. 20-30% of the population are carriers of the staphylococcus bacteria in their skin-flora. So I guess she is one of them, and that her immune system was weakened by a mix of exhaustion, freezing and the use of Voltaren and pain reliefs to treat the inflammation she got prior to the skin infection. If you get a wound or scratch while having a weak immune system, you may be vulnerable to infections by bacterias living in your skin flora. That is what I believe caused it. If you watch the next episode, you will see that her bad luck was not over yet. ;)
