I can say first hand that Kristen changed after visiting Galapagos. She always had a love and connection for animals (I can't tell you how many street dogs she's befriended on our travels) but that love flourished after this trip. She saw how people and animals could live together with respect, not fear. Loved this video! Great job telling your story. xoxo.

The Galapagos are one of the most important locations in history, if you ask me. It looked beautiful! And the crabs and seals and other flora and fauna were so cool to see! Great video, Kristen! (somewhat depressing, but) Random fact: it took 300 years to give the giant tortoise a scientific name. The reason? They were previous described in books as being the most delicious meat ever eaten, so crew members would always eat them on the way back to Europe.

A good thing about both Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for Americans is that they use USD so you don't even need to convert your cash when you go nor do you need a visa.

This video brings back so much memories! I spent a month on the Galápagos Islands (San Cristobal, Santa Cruz and Isabela) last year and it was truly amazing! I recognise almost every place in the video and miss it so much. Except from the amazing places and animals shown in this video, do not miss the highlands and above all, do not miss diving at Galápagos! Kickers rock in San Cristobal is amazing (recommend it for snorkelling as well!)! I saw sea turtles, reef sharks (black tipped and white tipped), Galápagos sharks and the most amazing think, a hammerhead shark! 😱😍 It was my first dive after taking a PADI a couple of weeks back, so you do not have to be pro or anything. If any of you ever get the chance to go to the Galápagos, take it! Best place I have visited! Greeting from Sweden

Nice video! I'm not sure, but I think that you omitted to mention that the Galapagos Islands are a part or province of the country of Ecuador. I think that many people think that the islands are some type of independent nation, and they need to adhere to the Ecuadorian travel requirements. I was surprised to see that there are still travel agents that are active, as I was under the impression that most individuals now utilized the internet, and the many sties found online to search for, and purchase tickets at a discount. I know that years a go a company that I worked for did use a travel agent for business travel, but I remember hearing that most of the airlines had cut, if not totally eliminated the commissions that they once paid to travel agents. Thanks again for sharing.

First, I love this video! My only critique is....when you used the word endemic, and then defined it for us, that implies that we're ignorant of multisyllabic English words. I assure you, we know the meaning of the word, and really didn't need the definition! (or the implication that went with it). However the rest of the video was wonderful, and I thank you for giving us a glimpse of this unique place!!
@hopscotchtheglobe4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video. Not everyone here is a native english speaker so it helps to explain some words :)
@redhouse10024 жыл бұрын
@@hopscotchtheglobe Okay, I hear you. I just see this happening more and more on videos where people define the simplest of words, and endemic isn't a hard word. Well, my advice is to give your audience more intelligence credit - I'll bet your foreign audience speaks English better than most English speakers! (they work hard at it, and kudos to them!). But I do want you to know that I enjoyed your video very much.
