This video is very helpful. I have honestly thought about not flying until after I have top surgery because I don’t want to deal with the TSA patting me down for any reason.

As Alexander said in the video, you can get through it, everything will be ok. Trans people travel all the time. Just be sure you’re prepared in every aspect and stay calm. Don’t let you being pre-op hinder you from living your best life!

So I will be traveling back home this summer, I always bind or tape with Transtape since you recommend not wearing a binder do you taping would be okay? Or should a big T-shirt and like sports bra be better?
@kylemorgan34065 жыл бұрын
Hey Aleck, I travel alot for work and I've never been stopped for binding. I also tape but haven't gone through tsa with it cause I feel it's a little harder to explain if I get questioned about it.
@TeaTimeWithTBoys5 жыл бұрын
We don’t have experience going through TSA with tape, so we don’t know. Personally I’d rather be safe than sorry and just do a big hoodie (and bra if you want)

I wear a tight sport bra instead of a binder for the travel. I recommend that.

I got stopped for not looking like I match the gender on my ID. My ID still says female and they didn’t think I looked female. I then got flagged for my medication which was all prescription. I got questioned about each medication

Well this was extremely helpful! Thanks guys :) My fiancé and I are travelling to Hawaii from Ontario to get married in May and my birth certificate, although I submitted a request for sex marker and name change, came back STILL STATING I WAS FEMALE!! 😅 So needless to say, I started to panic now that it’s almost April and I haven’t gotten my passport. So now I’ll end up with a passport that says I am female and I had this bad feeling that I would be denied access to another country but this video was very reassuring. I’ll definitely be asking my doctor for a note, that’s something I didn’t even think of!

I have some International travel coming up end of this to India. I’m not sure how to travel. Gender separation is a big deal in India. Even going through security at Airports they separate men & women. It’s stressing me out as a trans woman. I’m passable, but I’d be considered as a large woman, so that just adds to the anxiety…😢

im going on tour internationally this summer with my orchestra (who i am out to) as a trans (under 18) guy whos not out to transphobic family so this really helped me... i fly pretty regularly but this time ill actually be binding and probably not packing. im not sure whether or not to bring a packer and if that gets checked, what id do or how id explain since im so young... i luckily "pass" almost 100% of the time even tho im not on T so im not sure how thatll all pan out. if anyone has any tips for me id appreciate them, thx!

@@TeaTimeWithTBoys i did and its great!, i wasnt v clear but i was wondering how that pertains to minors, like if some things could be easier or harder
@TeaTimeWithTBoys5 жыл бұрын
Grayson Creates I’d treat it the same. I don’t see them treating you any different through security as a minor. So if you feel like you “pass” then I’d say wear a packer but definitely don’t bind. You can always call the airport and express your concerns beforehand if you wish
