Hey Lee looking for some advice. I bought my first camera last year March and I'm about to shoot a co-worker's cap and gown photo. I have a x100vi, xt4, and xt5. I also have a sigma 16, viltrox 27, viltrox 75, fuji 35 f1.4, and 56 f1.2 (old). I'm not sure how I should utilize my gear for the shoot. What would be your gear setup recommendation? Also really like your content. I feel like I'm kind of following your foot steps in my photography journey. ✌

Definitely going to want some shallow DOF for portraits. I’d suggest using the 35 1.4 and 56 1.2 combo. Good focal length compression and ‘fast’ aperture. Shoot on your highest resolution camera if the client plans to print or enlarge the photos you take. Otherwise, all of the cameras you mentioned are more than good enough for the job.

Similar setup indeed! I would honestly stick with the viltrox 27mm f1.2 and the 56mm f1.2. I think the both is great on their own. I would also say the 35mm f1.4 but its autofocus a hit and miss if you're always on the go!

Photos look great. Curious if you set your own white balance when using the portra 400 recipe. The blues look more muted

I use auto wb! Using the default white balance from the recipe tends to be a little too yellow for my liking.

@@lee.ronin.photographyHuh I feel that same way. Can't believe I didn't think of that. Do you still use the negative clarity and the rest of the settings?

Can you share the Portra 400 and the 160 recipe? i like a lot your version

It's the same recipe on fuji weekly! The only adjustment I did on my end was change it to auto white balance. Sometimes I would set it to K - between 6000-6600 values depending on the scene. Give it a try!
