作品が国際市場で27億円の価値がつくのに、彼はお金にも有名になる事にも関心はなく、ひたすらもっと良い作品を作ることだけを考えて日々実行している。その芸術家としての生き方、考え方は尊敬に値するものだし、素朴で飾らない人柄は誰に対しても変わらず素晴らしい人間だ。有名になったとたん踏ん反り返り、アシスタントという名で貧乏画学生達をこき使いお金を絵画投資につぎ込むビジネスマン化した自称「大家」とは対照的だ。
