You can be an excellent American History teacher with all of the knowledge you've accumulated on your travels...by the way love the close ups on the meals you guys enjoy...this makes it a sure success watching your videos before visiting...for me a good meal in a unique restaurant makes the vacation experience perfect 👌

St. Louis was really made interesting in this episode, and seeing so many different visual perspectives helps in appreciating a city that has definitely had its fair share of bad luck. There is always a nugget of goodness that you seem to find in every city that you visit, which makes it easy to invite people to take a fresh look and perhaps for the first time, have an open mind about places that may not have the best reputations. Time and time again, there is always a perfect balance between the story, the visuals and the history that locks in my attention span, which more often than not tends to wander when watching travel videos. The investment of time and $$ into doing things like the tours and the helicopter ride are noticed and valued, and the adventure of Lewis and Clark makes it worth it to come back every Sunday. Thanks again, as always.🙂

Oh how I loved St. Louis!! I have been waiting for this episode, we spent 3 days here in May and loved every moment...well except for the tornado warning lol We did the riverboat tour as well and really enjoyed it, about 15 minutes after the tour the tornado warning came. The Hill was great, and the Arch was fascinating! The Visitor Center there was very impressive. St. Louis is a food lovers paradise, by far my favorite city in the US thus far. Thanks for a great episode Robert!

Mornin', Robert! Thanks for the tour of St Louis. I passed through 20 years ago on a Rt 66 trip and only had time to ride to the top of the arch. When I was there the river was in flood stage and the water was up to the edge of the riverside walk. Wow, that shot of the fish in the Japanese Garden -- those things must be huge! As always, watching your videos gives me the urge to go back to those places and see what I missed. Happy trails!

(Laugh!!!) I went through St. Louis several years ago, and saw the fountain from a distance. We didn't know that it was a fountain, and wondered what it was, and if there had been some sort of breakdown of the water system in the city. Now I know - and appreciate it. You can see both the arch and the fountain from a LONG ways away! I'm looking forward to seeing your section on the historic, especially on Cahokia. I'm Muskogee - descendant of the "Southern Cult" which was part of the Mississippian culture, plus I'm an archaeologist and quite familiar with it - I'd studied what is available in my classes and remember what elders had said about it. I've also read some about the Lewis and Clark expedition and am enjoying this series.

Seeing the landscape from a pusher tug is a different perspective. I was lucky enough to have worked for a shipping company on the Danube river here in Europe and got to spend 7 days on one, including going through locks, much smaller setup though, we would do 2x2 barges, the Mississippi setups are up to 5 x 8 barges. Would love to spend a couple of days one of those, the huge tugs have a lot of real estate available. Great memories

You said the GoPro is so undependable. On my GoPro a lot of footage won't show up when I transfer it to a hard drive. On the cloud it's there, but it doesn't show me on the sd card. Some footage seems to be lost completely. Do you have the same problem with the GoPro?
@TravelingRobert2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it just freezes at most inappropriate time. I never store anything in the cloud.
@luperamos73072 жыл бұрын
@@TravelingRobert Freezing also happens to me and I have to pull the battery out. But I noticed only recently that it omits clips that only show up on the cloud. Never had that issue before.

Once again, 7 ads (in addition to a promotional ad) in 44 minutes, including the first one in the middle of your intro some 30 seconds into the video! Plus two ads and your promotional ad within the first seven minutes! Comes down to an ad every 5 1/2 minutes. Not how it used to be. Ugh!
