This might be the best backpack I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a lot. I was able to pack it for a 4 day trip using packing cubes. Packed 6 shirts, 6 pair of shorts, size 13 flip flops, etc. in it. The packing cubes (sm, m, and l) plus a tech pouch and kindle, snacks, and some other odds and ends fit perfectly. Think it’s that big open bucket design. The way the lid opens makes accessing and packing the main compartment so easy. The mesh pockets in the lid with the zippers on top when opened was a genius design decision. So simple, so efficient. The bag even fit under my airplane seat on one of my flights. I feel like this bag packs out to more than 30l, so I was surprised I could fit it under the seat. I also use the Ulvo 30 for work (teacher) and weekend trips out of town. Love the fabric: it’s soft. I hate stiff bags. It carries nicely when packed out. I walked with it on for almost 3 miles in La Guardia to kill time during a long layover. Haven’t had the chance to test the fabric in rain. I’m also going to test out the Ulvo 23. Wish it came in an orange / dark yellow color.

Just ordered this and am excited to get it! I love the format of this review. Thorough, time-efficient, and very helpful to have you suggest other similar bags at the end for people who want something close to this but with some differences. For me, this is a superb balance of comfort, flexibility, size, minimalism with some tasteful organization, and price. Planning to use it as an EDC working in a a business-casual professional environment, and to take it hiking and traveling from time to time as well.

Great video as usual. I love the organization on this bag, don’t like the water bottle pockets but that’s not a big deal for me. On this bag I’d put my bottle inside in the secondary sleeve. Gonna consider this bag for my collection.

that back panel will mkae you sweat like crazy, also with the toplid that contains all your elektrical equipment it will make the pack pretty topheavy, easpecially if on certain days you dont carry a lot.

Love your detailed reviews as always! May I ask about the measurements of the laptop sleeve? Coz my laptop is on the larger side of a 16" laptop. Also, how does the comfort of the shoulder straps compared to the similar bags you listed? Besides, since laptops can vary a lot in dimensions, may I also suggest adding measurements of the laptop sleeve/compartment in future reviews? These are rarely listed in official sites or reviews.

So, Some Points: first of all, the Bergtagen material is waterproof. Meaning the inside is also really easily washable .That’s why the laptop sleeve doesn’t have fleece lining.

Great review! You mentioned the TNF Kaban and said that you expect more weather resistance from that one compared to the Ulvo. Wouldn't you expect the Ulvo to be better with the taped seams? I'm torn on these two bags right now (except it's the Ulvo 23) so any input is appreciated!

I think that Ulvo, given it's made from Bergshell is actually much more weather resistant than Kaban

I wish the ulvö 30 also had the front pocket of the 23 version. Then it would be perfect. Now it feels to me like one pocket is missing. I’m having a hard time deciding between Ulvö 30 and Black Hole 32 🤔 Which one do you prefer and why?

Thank you for watching! Definitely a tough choice and I agree on the missing front pocket on the 30. Between that and the black hole I slightly prefer the pocket layout of the black hole and the fact it has a separate laptop compartment but I do find the ulvo to be a bit more comfortable

Both bags can work well I think it comes down primarily to organizational and aesthetic preferences, for me I prefer the look and the additional pocketing of the raven 28, but the simpler layout and slightly larger space is the ulvo might be better for some
