The Double Compartment Bullet 18L has been my go to EDC bag for a while. I love the form factor and its organizes just like the GR2 but just smaller. They list it as 18L but I swear it holds just as much as my 21 L GR1
@dannypacks4 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and glad to hear the bullet has been working out well! I have only used the 16l but am not surprised it feels like the 18l can hold as much as the 21l it’s deceptively spacious

These would be perfect but that price will always be outrageous.

Just get a recycledfirefighter backpack actually improved version of goruck. With much better pockets.
Hi Danny, I found Ripstop is a relatively cheaper material vs others. Is it good? Does Ripstop have a stiffness that keeps the bag's shape? Is it strong? Is Goruck Ripstop worth the price? What do you think?

cheaper and somehow more expensive.

Thank you for watching and those are all fair questions! In general, ripstop nylon to me doesn’t feel as rugged as 1000d, but it still feels durable and high quality. For my everyday and typical travel usage the ripstop feels durable enough and for me it’s worth the trade off for the lighter weight, improved weather resistance and the out of the box comfort it provides. It’s not super rigid so it won’t hold its shape but I actually like that particularly in the gr2. Whether it’s worth the price is always a tough question for any bag. For me I am a fan of Goruck bags and have always had good experience with the quality and customer service and the style and layout work well for my preference so their bags are worth it to me, but they are pricey and with so many great options available at lower price points I can see why many would not find the price point to be worth it for them. I do find it strange that the ripstop is more expensive so for people who don’t care as much about the weight and weather resistance I might lean towards the 1000d version still

@@PanaMaJwaaRd Many variables between buying the material and making a bag out of it that affect cost. Stop being a simpleton.

can you make a "not edc" backpack review for something around 30l when traveling for SEA? something waterproof, light and easy to clean
@dannypacks4 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! Two of my favorites in this category are the Patagonia mini mlc and the matador seg28 (maybe not ultrlight weight but feel like they might be close to what you were describing)
@twinrixone52954 ай бұрын
@@dannypacks I already own the black hole pack 32l, forgot to mention the "SEA" backpack doesn't need a notebook compartment and a raincover would be nice. one that doesn't make you sweat too fast. something like the Terravia

Im about to try the Matador Beast 28 for a short visit to Bali It is very light and holds everything i need i think🙂

The Colfax Design Works TOAD is my waterproof go to. I have the rare 30l version and its a great waterproof, submersible duffle backpack with a boyancy valve. The very pricey Arcteryx Drypack 25 is also a great alternative 🤙

Thanks for the video Danny! Which color would you say the earth color is closer to? tan/coyote or olive green?
@dannypacks4 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! It seems to change a bit based on the lighting 😅 I would say it’s almost a blend of the two, so there’s a hint of green, but mostly a light tan?

I don’t really understand your comment about 1000D taking a long time to be easy to use. The 1000D holds its shape, stands up on its own and is bombproof. The ripstop just seems like a flimsy material that turns what makes GORUCK packs great into a fragile pack that always looks lumpy with no structure.
@dannypacks2 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and good question! I agree 1000d is still the more rugged fabric and if I needed the longest lasting bag it would still be my first choice, but for my preferences it feels a little too stiff and heavy when compared with the ripstop. For the a majority of my uses the ripstop is still more than durable enough and I like that it’s lighter, more weather resistant, and I actually like bags that are a little floppy since they don’t look as bulky when they’re not fully packed and it’s easier to use the front zippered pocket
