I'm Tanzanian live in Phoenix AZ, my brother who will be landing in Dar tomorrow is married to an African American and we all get along perfectly fine. In fact, she's a much better wife than some of these African wives I've seen here who became more Americanized than American themselves. I've encountered mistreatment from some brothers and sisters from here, I've also met some who consider me family and very happy to see me. At the end of the day, the lies and propaganda is told on both sides with the goal to divide us, some listen and others like me and my brother, we ain't got time for that. As far as we are concerned, all blacks are Africans and we will love them to the end of time no matter what anyone says.

+King Kinjikitile I love what you said. It's true, the lies come from both ends. The people who are weak minded will adopt those mindsets and the people who aren't, won't. And I've heard the same thing about African- American wives as well as the other way around. I guess it's all about perspective.

When a black American person living in America says Africans hate black people they are saying it wrong, the correct way to say it should be, an African person that they have came in contact with here in America express hate toward me or every African person I came in contact within America has expressed hate or dislike toward me, all people should not be judge base on a few bad apples, we have good and bad on both sides of the fence, African or Americans so the fingerpointing needs to stop however addressing the matter is important to try and stop the widespread of stupidness on both parts.

@f you that's right im assuming they dont know much about Black American history. My parents grew up during segregation. We are just now able to make anything for ourselves and many of us are still set way back. People forget that black people, though our culture is very well known around the world, make up only a small percentage in the US. We are still the lesser one even in America. Many Africans learn of this reality when they come to America.

@@keepinitkawaii I've found most Africans that go to America, or other blacks from the Caribbeans and such, do not have that experience of being treated as lessor, at all. In fact, black immigrants, esp. certain demographics like Nigerians, have among the highest income brackets and success. Higher than whites statistically, which should put to rest this nonsense that is peddled about unequal opportunity. When they come w/ strong family values, intact families, high education and a pit bull work and education ethic, ecstatic and grateful to make the most of the opportunities of the west, they succeed and surpass.

Girl I understand the dress code problem! Even in dar es salaam I've had a man tell me off about a maxi dress I wore which was to tight apparently and showed my curves. That's what it is,the whites can wear whatever they want because we know their culture ,but in Africa women its not our culture for women to wear shorts though for now it's start to change somehow its not like ten to fifteen years ago ,I remember those days that mob after surround u they will end up left u naked just to punish u but according to the law its illegal and some people go to jail for that and for now u can not see such behavior. But there are places like in rular areas it's quite strange but not in urban areas all in all so many things changes according to glob alization .In case of hate Black Americans I think ma sister u are right we use to love Black's all over the world and we are gud fans of black athletics and artists we value them than the whites .Thanks hope one day when I come to Arusha I will check on u I like people like u and thank u for telling the truth and especially when u speak about negative side of ours I see some thing different than most of us here u tell the truth no matter what I like that and that is the truth we have some weakness in some areas ,.

Everyone should wear whatever he’ll they want . Shouldn’t be anybody’s business . I’ve been to Dar, Arusha Tanga and more . I got Scott free because I’m Caucasian. I got that fabric as a welcome at a Primary school in the ceremony they held for me . I wasn’t told it was because I wore a dress 👗 just above the knee. If that was for modesty, that’s fine ! But those big mamas should not shake their butts provocatively right in front of my face in the presence of 900 children 👶🏽. That I could not get my head around, but over all I love to community and the children.

Traveling Sista people should know that staring is rude. I USA or Canada or Europe people from all parts of the world are included wearing what the hell they want . As a Canadian, we bent to the new comers ! We allow burkas and turbans in the government offices , Sikh police officers wear turbans which is not Canadian culture . I cant wear a hat in my passport photo but a woman from Middle East or any Muslim country can’t wear her full on outfit. Who knows who is under that covers! So being Canadian, if I care to wear a fitted long or knee length skirt , it is my God given, human right .

African Americans have traveled to Africa many times and some have even stayed there so maybe it’s you who are ignorant and quick to tell folks you don’t know whatsoever how they feel. Plus what African Americans is talking about requires no trips to Africa because it’s about Africans that comes to America so when you try to deflect away from the facts by making an argument that has nothing to do with what african-Americans are saying and that make you look crazy.

Hell, few negro Americans can even point out Africa on a map. I could wager $500 that you would be hard pressed to find 5 negros in America that know that Africa is a Continent, forget any of them knowing that it's made up of 54 Nations, with thousands of languages, and people of many skin colors. The American negro believe that everyone in Africa speaks Swahili, are black, and are running around chasing monkeys to eat. We lived there for over ten years, worked in 34 of the 54 Nations and were lucky that we spoke a few languages, never Swahili.

Thank you! What you mentioned about a conspiracy I believe to be true. I spoke with a Dr. from Kenya explaining his experience moving to the US. He said he was explicitly told in the immigration process to stay away from "African Americans", and that we were this and that. But luckily he was not an ignorant person, in fact his wife is a sista from the US. Furthermore I have met Ethiopians, Senegalese, Nigerians, Ghanaians, Angolans, Congolese....one of my best friends growing up was from Togo, and I had nothing but positive interactions. I've found that many Africans that were new to the US were somewhat reserved at first, which I don't blame them, but once they see you're sincere they will give you the clothes off their back. I actually admire the giving nature of many of my African brothers and sisters. Another thing...Essentially every African I've met has encouraged me to visit Africa when I expressed my interest. Because of our different experiences we are a little different, but we are one.

Love you my Sister. YOU ARE 100% CORRECT IN TELLING THE TRUTH. !!! Thank you for sharing your experience as to help enlighten us, and re-educating the mis-educated. There are two (2) very interesting words that I learnt from reading the book entitled..."Message to The Black Man... in America". I believe it should have been entitled "Message to The Black People around the World" The 2 words are: 1."Fratricidal" means.....relating to or denoting conflict within a single family or organization. 2. "Internecine" means....destructive to both sides in a conflict. OR......relating to conflict within a group or organization. This topic denotes the preaching and advocacy by the devil and evil doers who have nothing better to do than to create savage internecine warfare amongst Children of The Most High, God!" It happened in Rwanda ...Genocide, Nigeria...Biafran War, Black skin versus light skin in Black America,.... and the list goes on. Ignorant and arrogant people should get it right,.... Africans DO NOT HATE Black- African Americans ! Do you hate yourself? If you do, then seek some immediate help and attention from The Creator, unless you do not belong.... in creation.

Over charging is very common.Even a Tanzanian can be overcharged if they think you have money(Arriving with expensive car, expensive clothers, jewels etc) If you arrive at the shop with no price tag always prepare to bargain. I was morally depressed. I had a friend from work who quit work who no longer has a house I had him stay at my home Hunn? he brings narcotics to his room and sell when I was at work at night ?I was in trouble ?? And at my work I'm the head chef all my brothers are not happy Hunn. I love African American we are brothers for my part. I'm just afraid to make friends here

Because some of us will not take you seriously. You would be ululating a lot of guff. Europeans did not start our History 😂😂😂We always had our own all African history. See it's people like you that try to be the voice for all black Americans in America but yet you can't be because you're uneducated and your ignorance allows them to keep pushing their stereotypical narratives about us. How do we not know who we are yet the whole world does?? b Because they emulate everything we create and have been creating for the last four hundred and something odd years in America. Also how do we not know who we are when we were black in America before Nigeria was Nigeria in 1912. Before you make all-encompassing statements about people people that you claim to be a part of realize if they are uneducated you are giving those who seek to demean and degrade us a narrative to run with . 400 years of existing and creating things that are emulated worldwide is culture. If someone can do something and identify that something as coming from one particular group then that's culture. We know who we are we know where we came from don't speak for us you're probably not even of us

I did not get the impression that we are hated when I went to Tanzania. There were many things discussed with random individuals from perceived African American norms in America, to residual customs that we practice unknowingly, to why we are one and will rise/fall together regardless of where we may live. To be honest, I felt more like a person around brothers and sisters on the continent than in America. This is sad, but there just didn't seem to be pressure to be anyone other than who the creator made. Being American didn't really seem to matter other than when I was murdering the Swahili language. I only visited one country and I'm sure that there is a minority who would dislike the American within me, but all I felt was welcome.

Thank you for being country specific and not just saying African because we are not all the same, we are not a monolith of culture, environment or experience. I do not know anyone from my country who has ever said or done anything against African Americans or Black Americans (depending on how you identify). My experience living in America currently is WEST AFRICANS namely Ghanaians and Nigerians who disrespect or attempt to belittle me because they think I am a Black American, it takes a lot out of me to even engage in conversations with West Africans because i have experienced nothing but hate and ignorance. I have gotten in way too many verbal altercations and disputes with other Africans; I for one can not in all my privilege of being a Southern African come to America and tell a Black person how they should be, think or identify but I find that many Africans find comfort in doing so. I've also gotten some level of hatred from Black Americans. There are many misconceptions on both sides and much hatred and ignorance on all ends. Lastly, there is this resentment and hatred between us as Africans, we are divided as a continent, Southern Africans are cautioned against West Africans, I know I have my own bias and prejudice because of 1) my experiences with many people from Ghana and Nigeria and 2) our perceptions in the South of different Africans above the SADC line.

I lived in Zaire (now, DRC) for quite a while, and I made a lot of friends among the different cultural groups I studied in the 1980's, but you will always remain a "foreigner", if you grew up in the US and have immigrated to West Central Africa. Being a "foreigner" and being hated (a very strong term) for it is not very likely. Being envied, and being of commercial or monetary interest is more likely. All of us from the US are "rich" of course, and in many cases, just having a few thousand dollars in income every month does qualify as rich compared to the majority of Africans. But the same thing happens in SE Asia, or South America too. Anyway, I love Africa and the people, and would move back if the medical care was good. Good luck and best wishes.

Nicky Apenahier, I make the below statement with all love and respect. Why generalize? I’ve been married to the same woman for 30 years (we are both Black Americans) and raised 2 children. My parents have been married for 50 plus years (never divorced) and raised 6 kids. Some of my siblings have been divorced; however, they were able to get custody of their kids. I’m not disputing your claim Africa America men don’t get married or have kids out of wedlock. If you make a statement so generic it only adds to the propaganda that black men don’t take care of their responsibilities. Could there be a correlation between the war on drugs and the imprisonment of so many Black youth? I would argue yes. Most people tend to stay married if they do so at an older age and if you add a higher education level the rate of divorce drops even more. Most of my friends that are black are educated and have only married once. Most have some college or have graduated with an undergraduate or higher. In all cases they are either still married and if not they have taken care of their responsibilities. Of course, I know people both White and Black who aren’t taking care of their responsibilities for a variety of reasons. I would try and add a little nuance so as not to generalize. Below is a government link about U.S. marriage and divorce rates. Again, much love and respect! www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2013/article/marriage-and-divorce-patterns-by-gender-race-and-educational-attainment.htm

Me and my wife are definitely thinking about moving to Africa someday soon. Im in the process of learning Swahili I probably know about 25% of it now so I definitely want to move to a place in Africa where its the official language. Your videos make me even more excited about moving to the motherland for good.

That's basically East Africa. Swahili is spoken throughout there. There is no Swahili in West Africa. It's a beautiful language and easy to learn. I am from West AFrica and love that language. Good luck !!!!!!!!!

First step in this conversation is can we stop generalizing Africans like it’s a country. It’s a continent. You can’t “live” in Africa. Second the hate and hostility goes both ways. Third I’m Nigerian and I always admired African Americans mostly in my opinion because they are strong-minded and they’ve broken barriers in the States where African people who immigrate have better opportunities but only because of African Americans. My mom loves and I mean loves African Americans and respects they’re past and present struggle and the adversity they’ve overcome as a community. Tbh we see African Americans as ourselves just not being able to identify with a certain country(not their fault). It’s unfortunate on both our ends because culturally we may not be able to understand each other but I think this gives us an opportunity to learn from one another, share our experiences as black people and become even more united. I love to see African Americans come back to an African nation and indulge in our culture cause it really shows that they’re intact with their roots and heritage. African culture is so rich and unique and if African Americans get the opportunity to come back home(African country) it will be such a joyful experience

.... in Africa, when white women wear shorts and are shrugged off as ' tourists with no culture ' but if you are African American you pass for a local and the expectation is different. If you move to s smaller town village it will be more conservative that bigger cities like Dar Es Salaam, Nairobi, Mombasa, Jo'burg etc

as an African who lives in America I got one thing to say to black people who are only using 25% of your brains in America the 75% of your potential is been suppressed, look at how you excell under duress, what if you take all that knowledge, high education and street smarts and take to a place like Africa were people are begging for you skill sets you will produce millionaire as if it was going out of style. You know what the best kept secrets is the government and people of black Africa would rather have you as the foreigners than other races of investors and worker then they feel that they are not dealing with foreigners but brothers and sisters that have the skill sets of white people that can better Africa from a brother and sister perspective. But since this not the case they will take the white man and chinese money and don't complain about other races coming in to their place. They rather have you with all your cooperate experience and money believe me you are going to be given African terms, for everybody else they'll go by the book

+Amara Dumbuya I agree. That’s why I decided to come here to Tanzania. I feel like we as blacks can progress a lot faster and easier on the continent of Africa. I believe that here in the states we’re putting our energy and economic advantages into the wrong things. A lot of us AREN’T focusing on building wealth in our own communities, we’d rather give it away to other ethnic communities. That’s why I’m trying to encourage Blacks to come out to Africa. Most Africans don’t hate us. We are definitely misunderstood on a global scale, but the opportunity is there for us to expand and build a generational legacy for ourselves.

I am an African living in N.Y. I think the reason some black Americans find us to be snooty is that, from onset nothing good was said about the continent to them so they try to talk down to you, now that's my experience. But I will let you know that I am proud of my upbringing and I don't sleep on trees as most black Americans were thought ad kids. Even our kids would rather say they are Jamaicans than to say they are from Africa. Oh I am one proud African from a well to do family and I will shut up. Yeah that's right.

It’s so sad that people think this way. I tell black people here in America God willing I’m moving to Africa and they are so misinformed and negative. But my white Nieghbor’s on both sides of me said “that’s great your gonna love it!!” I think your right we’ve been conditioned to believe it’s bad over in Africa and unsafe on purpose! But thanks to people like you that debunks this nonsense. Keep up the good work my sister! Hopefully my wife and I will be using your services to help us settle in if we choose Arusha to come to. For now definitely it’s Tanzania we chose as the country but trying to pick which city or town to stay in. Arusha is at the top of the list! So hopefully see you in August God willing!
