@zmzmetal721 Жыл бұрын
@Hana Wolfgang "Legally", meaning that you have a complete & proper documentation required by laws to enter our country. There's a lot of foreigners come to our country illegally. They worked & stayed here for so many years illegally. Some of them used a tourist visa at 1st, but then they've never left our country & they are untraceable by the law enforcement. Some of them misused the UNHCR card. & some of them even dare to swim across the sea in order to get here. They keep coming back even after deportation. They really love our country, they don't want to leave... 😅

You may first greet a total stranger who is Malaysian in order to start a conversation and break the ice by saying, "Apa khabar.?" and the typical reply is "Khabar baik." Then, you may inquire for interesting places avsilable there like, "Di manakah tempat-tempat yang menarik di sini?" A local Malaysian is surely familiar with his/her village or town of locality to gladly be informative to you as to why s/he lives there.

Actually Malaysians take for granted many things like infrastructure and the affordable services provided by the govt and private sector. In the 1970's, half the household in Malaysia was under the poverty level. But we ate the same food then. We had the same beaches and rainforest. We had the same diversity. But we were dissatisfied. We build like crazy for the last 50 years. Absolute poverty was reduced to 1%. That's what we should be proud of.

I discovered that many foreigners favour Malaysia more than Malaysians realised, likely because foreigners place a higher value on Malaysia's tourism potential than many Malaysians do on its political potential. Even if there may be a few shortcomings here and there, the majority of foreigners are content and will manage once they get to know Malaysians better. In general, Malaysians are quite hospitable to visitors and have always aimed to present a positive image of Malaysia by acting nicely toward them. Many Malaysians are occasionally unaware of the extent to which foreigners adore their country. In addition to the availability of a variety of foods, I believe that foreigners would appreciate Malaysians' kind demeanour toward visitors because Malaysians are really accustomed to.

Ah, when you guys asked them for useful malay sentences or phrases, they forgot to put themselves in your shoes ie as a tourist, a traveller. The 1st thing you wanna know in a new unfamiliar place is: directions! Which way to collect your luggage, how to get out of the terminal, where is the atm (cash machine), where to catch a bus, the ticket counter, the information counter, the money changer, the nearest convenience store, the nearest 7-11 or wh smith, the nearest McD or domino's, the best local eatery, the cheapest eatery, the post office, the most convenient car park, the way to the petronas twin towers, etc etc etc. Thousands of directions to know about, and many of which urgently too!
