@@Jupe367 not to that extent. Horses way up people within seconds and react accordingly. A friend of my bought her horse to livery with my group .Her horse had barely stepped off the trailer before my horse had him completely sussed as a potential challenger for taking his place as Alfa horse in the herd. This horse wasn’t even allowed to be in the next field and it took over two months before I could put them together. To us humans he was a quiet gentle cob but my horse saw something completely different and reacted to maintain his authority. The cob was a gentle horse but he had a dominant nature and eventually found his place keeping young horses in line teaching them social manners.

Horses truly understand different people. Years ago I had a older gelding by the name of Geranimo. He would give an adult a great ride for their skill level. But... if you put a child or a child and adult on his back, you could not get him above a slow walk. Smartest horse I ever had and I have had 30+ in the last 50 years. I have 9 now.
@toffy1952Ай бұрын
My old boy, King was just the same, he always took care of his rider whatever their ability.
@m6666Ай бұрын
IKR, my old boy Gus, could only be ridden by experienced riders, yet I could put young children on him, and then he would just plod along quietly as I led them around. I could even let go of the lead rope, knowing he would follow me at my shoulder. Many people underestimate the sense animals get by being around us. I had just started going out with some guy and Gus wouldn't let him get near him. I found out a week later that that guy wasn't only cheating on me but was also abusive to women. Since that time (I was in my early 20's) I've always relied on all of my animals to guide me on who is a good person to be around or not. Basically you cannot fool animals as they are just too intuitive. I couldn't live without my beautiful furbabies.

There is a reason there are so many equestrian therapy centers. Horses (when raised correctly and have ability to feel safe in their home and around humans) can sense energy and intentions. There has also been a study recently, that verified what horse people pretty much already knew. Horses can read their people's face for emotion.
