Chinese subtitles available on CC! Random fun fact - That dancing lady exchanged her WeChat ID with me, and I still sometimes text her random photos of where I am traveling. She sends photos of herself traveling too. She seems to go to a lot of parties. We can't speak each other's language but she always sends super happy dancing emojis. She is the best. Also as the description states, this was filmed before Covid-19. I have now returned to the U.S. to isolate and stay at home. I hope you all are safe as well! A tiny Yunnan town, Kunming, Tibet, and many more coming up next!

We have lived in this peaceful land for thousands of years. We have 56 ethnic groups living in harmony without prejudice and discrimination. We have both rich and poor sides. As long as we are willing to work hard, we have the opportunity to change our destiny. We have never understood why there are so many countries that can not see us well. What are they afraid of and suggest that some people from foreign countries should be recommended Come to China to play, who am I hospitable? Here you will be very safe. Don't go to big cities, go to the most remote places to see the most real us. What we need is not to flatter or belittle, but to be true.

Beautifully done! I love the panoramic format you used. I've been to China 3 times in the last 4 years, and look forward to returning. Fascinating place. Lijiang, as portrayed in your video, is the "old China" I would like to see. The modern China is impressive, but it's the more traditional that I crave. Thank you for posting.

Great editing, great video. Been to Lijiang and Dali years ago. Great vibe, alive, chill and a young hipster crowd of tourists/backpackers. I remember there being many live music bars and secret coffee lounges in hilltops and hidden gardens, which you haven't shown here. Horse riding in chamagu, climb up Jade dragon mountain, stroll around the old City, then dancing and dice games in the bars etc. For me, top place to visit in China if you want a city escape.

Thank you so much, Grace! I could share my travel plans and virus updates. I had many exciting trips scheduled for 2020, but they have now all been cancelled, even projects all the way in November and December. Hopefully I can travel again soon! But for now, I've named different rooms of the house, for example I call the table in the kitchen the Istanbul Coffee Shop. Also the front porch is called "The Deer Bar." So I "travel" between there and my room 😂 😂

Chinese middle aged women like dancing so much. Many of them get together every night and dance together by the street, at a square or other public places. They have a common nickname "square dancing aunts". :-)

Good video indeed. I like it. I stayed there for almost one month two years ago. It is reminisent of European towns like in Italy, France, etc., with decent coffee shops, tea houses, bars, sumptous food choices and young local hosts. In addition , I feel the small town is also attractive in the morning when traveller are minimum. Everything the buildings, pavement, river, trees, flowers, feel sort of animate representing local people who construct, arrange and decorate in a meticulous way to showcase a way of life of relaxation and carefree.

I went to Lijiang 丽江 as a child more than 15 years ago, and I can tell u it’s literally the most beautiful place I’ve ever been!!! It’s so surreal, as if I went through a time travel machine and went back to ancient china, with pristine snowy mountains in the back and rivers flowing through the ancient stones, at night we dance around the bonfire along with the ethnic minority groups in their traditional clothing, it was magical, the closest I’ve ever been to a place like Utopia. I miss it so much 🥹 unfortunately I heard it’s way more commercialized now and became a touristy spot, so not sure if the ancient remains/structures are still there
