There's Travellers Lounge Services in the mall where you can leave your heavy luggages, take a shower for P30-P50, enjoy the wifi, book a travel ticket/hotel etc. DONT FORGET, Treehouse De Valentine in Balamban, Cebu.

I admire your careful and attentive effort to really look into the airport requirements before traveling, I apologize for the inconvenience brought about by the outdated information on our airport sites saying you guys can apply for visa upon your arrival at our airport and our staff are not knowledgeable about that but truly the fact that you prepare hours before helper you a lot. Im a disabled person and traveling for me is also difficult because of the additional health requirements so like you I read requirements thoroughly and arrive at the airport many hours before. Interesting fact it doesn't matter how early or how late I get to the plane, disabled persons are always the first to embark and the last to deplane the airport. Best wishes to you guys!!!

There is an airport taxi, which uses meter that is the one you should go for here in Cebu or grab.
@lionhearted19692 жыл бұрын
@Attila and Zae...There are 3 types of taxis operating at the Mactan-Cebu Airport and in Cebu, in general: Airport Taxi (yellow livery), Regular Taxi (white livery), Premium Taxi (black livery). Airport taxis have the most expensive flag down rate at P80, followed by Premium taxis (P50 for Silver mark and P60 for Gold mark) and the cheapest is the Regular Taxi whose flag down rate is P40. The Premium Taxis which are in black livery have the word 'Premium Taxi' painted on its livery with either 'Silver' or 'Gold' marking to indicate the fare rate: P50 for Silver Premium (e.g. Toyota Innova) and P60 for Gold Premium (e.g. Hi-Ace Commuter). The Airport Taxi, however, can't pick up passengers outside the airport. After dropping off their passengers at their destination, yellow taxis, on their return trip, can also take any passengers as long as their destination is the airport.

@Attila and Zae....All taxis in Cebu have meters. Foreigners should know that Cebu is different when compared to Manila in many ways including the taxi drivers. Taxi drivers in Cebu always use taxi meters. You shouldn't negotiate with taxi drivers except when your destination is outside the three cities of Cebu City, Mandaue City and Lapulapu City. Simply and politely tell the driver to check if his meter is turned on as soon as you stepped inside.

Licensed taxi in the Philippines are metred. They're supposed to turn it on once you get in. Negotiating a taxi ride is not a good idea, unless one is going beyond the "boundary". If they don't turn on the metre or give you a fixed price, then get out of the taxi (which I have done before), that's how taxi drivers scam people. Grab is another option but it all depends on time of day or traffic. Fares can vary, and if they're too busy, they might just cancel your request at the last minute. I noticed that you stayed in Sampaloc district in Manila. There are better areas in Manila, even with budget prices - Malate, Ermita, Paco, Binondo (Chinatown) in Manila, Poblacion in Makati. You can walk around these areas and closer to a lot of places, tourists want to visit.

@AttilaAndZae2 жыл бұрын
We were not complaining, we were just making an observation that the Philippines has this type of security that we haven’t experienced before. We live in Canada and there is zero security anywhere, including banks and theres no mass shootings. Attila also has grown up in Europe, which similarly to Canada, there’s no security and definitely no frequent major crimes or shootings. Again, there’s no complaints, only observing something that we haven’t seen anywhere else.

We don’t really like to do that. We think that people should be nice and we don’t want to “threaten” anyone to be nice. If they’re going to be rude or try to scam us, we’ll simply take our business elsewhere. This is why we try out very best to use Grab, where we can see the price before we take a ride, cannot be overcharged and it’s usually more than half the price of a taxi.

Dont negotiate the taxi drivers its a meter taxi especially the WHITE TAXI
@AttilaAndZae2 жыл бұрын
The price difference between Grab and the taxis is INSANE. How could the Grab be 50% less than the taxi for the same service? If you walk into a store and see two of the same exact item that will achieve the same thing, who wouldn't pick the one that's half price? Also, in our experience traveling, every time we've gotten into a taxi, we were ripped off or scammed.
@TravelWorld4292 жыл бұрын
I avoid metered taxis and use Grab or InDriver in Southeast Asia. Since you look like a foreigner, they will try to rip you off in some way. Many times they shut off the meter before you destination and charge you double when you arrive. I complain and only pay what I saw on the meter, before it is shut off. Also, they will find a way that will take twice as long to get to your destination. Metered taxi drivers are the worse all over the world! Never had a problem with Uber, Grab, InDriver, etc, except some ask you to cancel the ride request and pay cash, so they don’t have to pay the 30% commission.
@evepinochannel2852 жыл бұрын
Actually, WHITE taxi is much cheaper than grab, dont negotiate them just ask them METERED TAXI? and give them directly your destination, dont use YELLOW AND BLACK TAXIS is more expensive. If they mention an amount pls dont ride it coz thats against our government policy. Grab is a little more expensive than WHITE Taxi but presentable but too long to wait.
