Kali seems so sweet and I can tell she has a lot of love to give

This made my heart so happy 💓. Hi, Kali 🙂 I just loved seeing her on her heated blanket & the funny way in which she drinks her water. Take care of her, Tam 🤗 She's precious. You BOTH are.

This might sound silly, but I have read that feral cats in Australia are or have bred out into predominantly different colours, depending on their surrounding terrain. For instance, in the red dirt interior, most of the cats are ginger. Closer to the coast, in what is called 'lightly afforested plains country', most of the cats are grey tabbies. One of the main causes of this 'colours for the country' phenomenon is that kittens and smaller cats that don't match the country, are easy targets for hawks. Birds like whistling kites can kill their prey just by impact, so a fully grown cat could fall victim to them. So, when your cat is tethered outside, it's still no guarantee that they are safe, especially if their colour doesn't match the surroundings.

Wow that’s fascinating and I actually haven’t heard of that before. Very interesting indeed. Yes she is never tethered without me being present right there with her however I agree there are still risks. Thanks for your comment I’m always interested to hear about new perspectives. 😺

@@DestinationSacredGrounds that’s alright I know you’re busy 😊 and that’s a good idea I guess training a kitty from the beginning or slowly introducing them like you did with your cat 😊

Thank you so much for this video… I am still trying to decide if my kitten will be travelling with the 2 dogs and I, when we start our adventures. The kitty litter is my biggest hang up, That and trying to walk 2 dogs and a cat on leads all at the same time 😂 Especially as I will still be working FT hours in the van as we go to start off with. (So limited time and energy everyday) I’m just not sure… Ma has said she will take him. Dang it I’m gonna get a harness this week and see how he goes 🤷♂️

I can imagine that full-time hours with two dogs and one cat maybe a challenge especially from an energetic standpoint. I know with my kitty, it would’ve been difficult to train her in a short period of time, especially giving my attention to 2 other beautiful fur babies at the same time. It took quite some time to train her by herself. But if there’s a will, there’s a way. 😄 As for the kitty litter, I’m not sure but i do have mine in the bathroom so can close the door with the air vent open. Good luck, I would love to see how you go! 🐶🐾😻🚐

WOW Great content..the interesting part for me is how she adapted to the lead... giving some real freedom for you both, The tracker is a great idea in a risky area, and also noted to be extra cautious is stormy weather, the other vid on ''learning the cat walk'' was a great watch . The attachment of the lead to the rear of the harness is an improvement on mine as its central..my cat learned vfast just to reverse and it pulls straight off LOL

OW also glad youve evolved to a cat lover LOL
@DestinationSacredGrounds3 жыл бұрын
Hey there John thank you. 😀 It took me a little while but I got it out there lol Yes lots of patience and she did ok. Better than expected. I don’t have a tracker but if I let her roam around a little more or if I was less cautious than I am now I would definitely get one. Storms and bad weather are definitely a scary situation for many. Oh yes Kalis first was in a different position and she would do the same. How are you doing with your kitty?

@@DestinationSacredGroundsWELL worth the wait thankyou for all your effort... I met a couple traveling around aus with putty and they swore by the tracker as well.. my puss after 3 years stuck in an apartment is now off lead in my back yard yay, but im surrounded by barking dogs / noisy neighbors . so hes super paranoid , there just short sessions but its freedom!! right. BTW you guys are a great team .. what a star she is.

Our mistake on the first trip was removing him from the van when we arrived so he could 'enjoy' the outdoors.. He was harnessed but got loose and took off into the desert. We thought that was it. He found his way back at 5AM. Anyway, we found that we have to let him come out on his own time or not at all, he's content staying in.

Have you had any problems with Kali getting out of her harness? I had one for my Pudding when I drove from Brisbane to Melbourne, and she managed to wriggle out of it. Luckily we were still driving, but she decided sitting at my feet was the best place to stay (which is a bit dangerous when I was the driver as you can imagine). I'd like to start Vanlife in the next year or so, but that is one area that I'm a bit worried about. Thanks for all these tips and for lots of Kali cuteness!
@DestinationSacredGrounds Жыл бұрын
Hey Tania, you are welcome. 🙏🏻 The harness I use I have found to be of great quality and more challenging to get out of than the ones you might find at the local pet stores. In saying this, I believe that if a cat really wants to get out then they will have a great chance. I try to make Kali feel as safe as possible so that she has no need to want to escape. Lots of time, patience and practice. I hope this has helped. 🐾

I have trouble with nose rings, when I see one I am so distracted that I can’t see their face or hear what they say, I struggle with my natural tendency to be accepting of others with my actual repulsion at how bad it looks. I just want to tell them to wipe their nose!

What a horribly negative thing to say to someone who has just shared such a generous insight into their personal life. Whatever happened to if you have nothing nice to contribute, then keep it to yourself??? You sir are an Incorrigible Cad!
