Having the shower behind the cab with the toilet on a slide out to get it out of the way seems to be the best design currently especially when the shower is also used as the pass through to the cab.....Given so many of us have been screwed out of ever owning a house being able to live in a van and no longer have to work full time is some what of a concession.

I'm fairly surprised they didn't install a split charge relay. I appreciate they might not have had the budget at the time but you can get them for £40 and could save hundreds in campsites

When you are young just do it because soon you will be old like the rest of us. I would have added more solar and like you said a DC to DC charger. Like the hidden toilet idea, very good idea. I might convert a van when I retire and have a folding bed that no one seems to have thought of, yet.

We have an energetic dog and like you we park up with her in mind...and she is a pain on the lead too. We also cook and eat in our van, really important in some (expensive) European countries. That is where the similarities end, our van is much smaller, we are much older, but the spirit is the same..and I am also an engineer...although old school. Go to Greece and Italy you will love it......maybe see you on the road.

The van is almost perfect. I would prefer to have a sofa bed that csn double up as entertainment space. I would also install a small air vent in the toilet to reduce the smell. Other than that, this is my ideal van.

To many it sounds slightly self aggrandizing to call yourself an 'Engineer' at such an early stage in your life. Don't mean to sound condescending; but if I were you I'd qualify it as a 'trainee Electrical Engineer'. It otherwise suggests you fabricate all advanced parts across disciplines from scratch ...and great job though you've done, let's be honest though, largely assembling ready made parts, wiring and woodworking on your van, please ask yourself why other equally good and more experienced van builders on KZbin rarely describe themselves as 'Engineers'? (Or if they do they will prefix it with their specialist field). Everyone has to earn it more ...aspiration is great but prematurely over titling oneself is not.
