Fun Fact: saudia used to be modern country back in the 1950's and all the way upto the 70's there was women office worker, business leaders, in tv and in science and arts sector. It changed because non-Muslim army soldiers were allowed to enter the Holy site of the kabaah to carry out raids against Muslims who took shelter there and thats when Saudi arabia became closed off. The question now with Saudia modernizing, if and when Muslims take refuge in the holy City, will non-muslim soldier be allowed to enter to arrest them?

Our government must reduce the amount of visas. The government believes that they come and will spend the money. Most of them come with nothing but the value of the ticket. The streets of Mecca have become a capital for begging by Bangladeshis and Pakistanis, and Saudi Arabia has become a visual distortion.

Most hotels are Saudi owned. The business model of branded hotels is that they are managed by international brands for a contract but owned by the local business leaders. So the money stays. Also, there are taxes and fees imposed by the government when staying at hotels in Saudi.

They are earning from holy places. Mecca and Madina are so much crowded in these days that the real essence of prayers has demised. The greed of more money has changed each aspect of Umrah and Hajj. They sometimes offer Umrah discounts which make these places inaccessible. Everyone arrives and leaves without getting closer to the sacred spots. Saudi Arabia is nothing without these holy places.

They even boast one of the best education and healthcare systems in the region, rivaling many global standards. So, by what measure do they live in the Stone Age? Unless, of course, you define civilization by the presence of alcohol and nudity, which seems a narrow and misguided perspective.

Someday Mecca and Medina will be open to all tourists regardless of religion... And that's the real freedom...

No it is only for Muslims as people are worshipping there in large numbers for Umrah and Hajj. It would be impossible to have non-Muslims there and have stable mangagement of the large numbers of people
@jumarkpelismino56322 ай бұрын
@Swiplys Sorry, but you’re not MBS. MBS is leading Saudi Arabia into a new era of modernization and openness through his Vision 2030 plan, aiming for inclusivity and equality among all people, regardless of religion. Changes like allowing tourists from all backgrounds, granting equal rights to men and women, and fostering cultural openness reflect his vision of coexistence and mutual respect because he believes in a future where everyone can live together with understanding. These reforms are also intended to drive economic prosperity in Saudi Arabia by diversifying its economy and attracting global interest. While Mecca and Medina are sacred to Muslims and central to Hajj and Umrah, discussions about potentially welcoming non-Muslims in the future align with the idea of embracing diversity. If such changes happen, they would be implemented with careful planning, ensuring respect for the sanctity of these places while sharing their cultural significance with the world.
