Craftsmen spent their lifetime carving out these grotoes statutes. The Dunhuang grotoes took hundreds of years to complete and so are the Yungang grotoes in Datong Shanxi.Together with the hanging cliff temples and Great Wall these strutures are testimonies of human endeavour.
