@Emanon...
@Emanon... Күн бұрын
I think that's a wrong approach, I believe. Economic dominance is itself "soft power" as the world will increasingly look to you for brands and consumer goods. Once you have large Chinese companies that produce great products, people will shift their opinion of Chinese culture as well. That will include popular culture as well over time. There's a reason why Chinese and Indian culture is very prevalent in Asia, but hardly noticed in eg Europe. For us in Europe, they're the "poor, low quality manufacturing base" still in the minds of especially the older generation. The opposite can apply as well: Sweden, Korea, France, Spain. Examples of economically strong to middle nations but cultural superpowers compared to their economic footprint. (edited for typos)

Recently, China issued USD bonds to the Saudis. These traded at only 0.007-0.029% above the 3Y/5Y rates and were oversubscribed by 19.9x. The Saudis will receive Chinese industrial products in return. With those USD, the Chinese will pay back the US on behalf of those countries trapped in USD debt. In exchange, those countries send resources to China. So, the end result is the world gets rid of their USD (instead of investing in US where it could be seized), countries free themselves of US debt trap, and the dollar floods back to the US.

This is why the inflation prices of all assets continues to accelerate. US Dollar debt-deflation through Quantitative Easing drives the Velocity of currencies through the Monroe Doctrine grift of Economic Codependency. The World is shorting the US Dollar, and its caused the political Establishment to have gone insane with rage that Western Empire has already collapsed. The conspiracy minded might see this as an intentional implosion or the US Dollar as an attempt to force the adoption of CBDCs obligatory for all Global citizen-slaves. WW3 is the goal of an insane ideology that needs to artificially inflate the commodities markets to act as an accelerated means of capturing Vassal States. Debt-deflation is a psychopathic methodology for sustaining the appearances of Social Management, where Institutional legitimacy no longer exists.

@Liviticus it's absolutely breaking down. US dishes out largesse to its allies and friendly countries to maintain their loyalty. Those who don't benefit from that arrangement naturally have to contribute to the pool of largesse disproportionately. It's a zero sum game. For some to gain, others have to lose. That's why the others are looking at reducing dependence on USD.

Voted him, but Greece, like most of the Western countries being puppet states and being guided by specific 3 Embassies, could not tolerate such a voice. I agree with everything he says. But having lived and still live in Asia for more than 10 years, he is right, China should invest in its soft power, blend with local communities. Slow, but concrete process. I hope the U.S. and China will never fight another war with each other. The two great countries can bring peace and prosperity to each other and to the whole world. As Admiral Paparo says and recognizes China is no longer what it was years before. In my opinion, It is critical to understand that China is very well prepared for any conflict with the U.S., whether it is a trade war or a hot war. It is worth reckoning this question: has the U.S. won anything against China since the establishment of the PRC in 1949? In the modern world, most of the world troubles were created by the U.S. and most of the alleviation of poverty was achieved by China. The trade war started by Trump and carried on by Biden is only making China stronger and more advanced in indigenous technologies. I hope Trump has learned his lesson the second time around. It is a self-indulgent delusion that the West under the coercion of the United States would be able somehow to stop or contain the rise of China with so-called small yard with high fences. It is a self defeating hypothesis. The U.S. and China should be partners and friends instead of enemies or competitors, for the benefits of the humanity and for a better world for all.

The U.S. and China have benefited massively from their cooperation and trade with one another. The current success of each nation would not have been possible to the same extent without the participation of one another. As these nations lift each other up the rest of the world rises along with them. This “Cold War” conflict is self imposed by the governments of both countries to drum up nationalist sentiments for political reasons & this kind of thinking should be rejected wholeheartedly.

The West don't understand China. It has a 5000 year old culture that emphasize on accumulating wealth via trade , not by slavery and colonialism. In fact , whenever a chinese greets another , they always ask have you eaten meaning are you living well in life. During the Chinese new year holiday the greetings has always being i wish you prosperity and good health. It shows the importance of wealth in the culture and society. The great wall of China was also built to keep invaders out because China always focused on it's internal security , not aggresively going outwards of their own sphere of influence seeking invasion and pillaging other foreign lands.

This is a good piece of analysis of the current situation in the world. Just as the past can be rewritten but not changed, the future cannot be predicted based on the conditions that exist today. The life of each man is short and lasts on average 70 or 80 years, less depending on the country. The life of nations is long, but they also undergo transformations and eventually disappear leaving nothing but language, stories and monuments. The life of empires is a little longer than that of nations, but they also decline and collapse. And then there is China, a nation that has survived several transformations and has seen Chinese empires rise and fall several times over thousands of years. There is nothing comparable to this in the West. The Western mindset is capable of imagining an American century. The Chinese mindset is not limited by that small space of time. And this is an additional problem that Americans and Europeans cannot even formulate anything about because they live under the pressure of the very short term.

Wonderful presentation. 👍 Yanis is absolutely RIGHT about soft power that China needs to give and to create in other countries. That is EXACTLY what China is weak at and really lack of understanding in how to create soft power in the lower and middle classes in other countries. The soft power here IS NOT spreading the culture BUT standing on the side of the social class, the people of the lower and middle classes. The simple understanding of this is to look at China’s communism in the beginning. Why and who did China start communism and socialism for? It is for the people of peasant and people of the poor who are suppressed by the landlords and the oligarchs.

While I think he is very reasonable,the sad thing is that I also think To debate about it is useless. Because in the US and the west in general, politicians are still in their colonial dreams.

The most advanced among the brutal practitioners of the new political psychology was Dr. John Rawlings Rees. Ree s and Tavistock understood that manipulation based upon bourgeois conceptions of the outside world as magical was fundamental to mass control. In other words, the Institute looked for methods by which to manage populations by exploiting their ideology. By first creating numerous social groups and then setting such groups into competition.

Wonderful presentation. 👍 China needs to listen to Yanis’s advice on the soft power topic and reduce the financial dependency on the uncle Sam.. Yanis is absolutely RIGHT about soft power that China needs to give and to create in other countries.

The current geopolitical situation reflects a continuation of Cold War dynamics, characterized by great power competition between the US and China, ideological divides, proxy conflicts, a technological arms race, economic decoupling, alliance formation, and military buildups, all contributing to a significant geopolitical standoff.
