That was so enjoyable, thanks Kevin. You had a lovely day for it, and the tunnels were a breeze. Some lovely scenery too, and I love seeing the ducks. 💕 I’m doing catch-up on your videos as I have been preoccupied with painting my outdoor chair, trying out my new Rollator and knitting a jumper for my own Kevin, who turned 62 recently. Being 87, one has to pace oneself! 😂 Oh yes, and editing my poetry book, ready for the printers - well, nearly! 📖 See you again soon.

Yay CHG! I loved the bit where you wrote, "Scrub that" when you found that mooring. I couldn't agree more. When you find that mooring, it's 50/50, stay or go, and then that shot with those beautiful taut mooring ropes. Lovely. Perfect cup of tea time. I think you're gonna have a bumper 2022. Good. Why not. I think you have a lot of people who are thinking of you and care about you. That's a treasure. Big love.

Thank you for sharing your adventures, and for teaching me something new (wich meaning salt). It sent me down a fascinating rabbit hole regarding the history of salt production in that area. The different methods for extracting the salt that were used throughout history etcetera. I’ve learnt about Lumpmen and Wallers and Lofters. This canal is one of the most perfect places for yourself and Aslan to be - near the Lion Salt Works 🙂 The Lion the Wich & the Waller - a very salty tale. Ok..... i’m going to shut up now. 🤣 Thanks again and all the best. 🙂🐿🌈❤️

Pure existentialism at its finest, Kevin. There’s something extremely satisfying watching you enjoying the simple things in life, aboard the time machine that is Aslan As you travel along at “walk-speed”, life reverts from a blur to a tranquil water colour of nature and history, with a good dash of humour. Having a pasty (homemade/baked) have switched to shortcrust pastry as my dear Dad used to make them along with the apple pie, but that's a different story. Oh the memories of a latter time (not the apple pie nor the pasties) but the memories of your trip so far. Preston Brook tunnel many memories and visiting the pub at Preston Brook which is now a spar shop and walking the length of the tunnel albeit on the top of to the next pub. I Recall your first tunnel experience and I was very anxious even though I was watching it and not actually physically being there but the claustrophobia of it did have a nervous effect on me, so well done with the tunnels Kevin.

You are getting close to my neck off the woods Kevin , on the Trent and Mersey spent my childhood playing around the Trent and Mersey and the Macclesfield canal where they meet up at kidsgrove , we used to call the Trent and Mersey the orange canal as kids owing to the iron oxide that leached into it mostly from the original Harcastle tunnel . I will keep my eye out , it would be so funny seeing you . Anyway if you need anything when passing through Let me know Staffordshire oatcakes are always a winner . Glad you are back on the move mate . Ps there is now a very handy Lidl shop at the intersection of Liverpool road and second avenue , if you tie up just before the lock that is between the canal tavern and the bluebell public house , that’s the last lock before the harecastle tunnel , it’s just a 30 second walk from the bridge if you look left with the tavern in front of you .
