The best time to visit Koh Ngai and other islands off the west coast of Southern Thailand is from January to April. May to October is the worst time of year since it is the southwest monsoon season, and the west coast of Southern Thailand is the windward side of the peninsula. November to December is alright, but it is still a bit rainy because it is in the first half of the northeast monsoon season, which is still rainy for Southern Thailand, especially on the east coast, which is the windward side. The rains subside in the latter half of the northeast monsoon season, from January to Febrary, especially on the west coast, which is the leeward side.

Ted! Thanks, thanks thanks! This is the most amazing and sweetest comment I have ever received. ♥️Thank you for the kind words!! Your support means the world to me. I was extremely lucky to get "stuck" in Thailand when the airport closed last year. It's been fantastic to live in paradise for over a year and a half and see the country like never before. I have filmed over 15 islands and intend to post a video on each one of them...hopefully, coming up soon. Thanks again for watching and for the sweet comment. ♥️

Wow! Love your narrations! Looks like you are very popular which is super exciting! We love Thailand and always want to go visit and you did a great job of showcasing this island. So cool you had a great time, but bummer on the storm. Love your drone shots too! You did a great job of featuring so many aspects. Love it! Wow the snorkeling looked fun but little scary with the current. Can't wait to go to Thailand soon! Wishful thinking! Please be safe!

nice video, but i'm a bit surprised @0:40 that the beach is still dirty, although there are no tourism. Lovely monitor lizard by the way.
@TravelRoads3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Charles! The beach was a bit dirty because the storm brought some debris. Maybe when there are no tourists and the hotels are closed, there are also no people to clean the island as much as usual? Thanks for watching :)

This is what Phi Phi was like when I went in 1992. Even so the back side of the island was covered in plastic bottles after a storm. No desire to go back, I've seen the photos. We also spent time at Koh Lanta, which had only a dozen primitive huts at that time. Sobering to think Ngai maybe an over developed ruined paradise in 10 or 20 years.
@TravelRoads3 жыл бұрын
I'm working on a video of Koh PhiPhi, coming up shortly. It's still a photogenic paradise, but it's not the island you remember. Sounds like you have fantastic memories and have seen Thailand in a way no one else ever will. ❤
@ggauche34653 жыл бұрын
@@TravelRoads I didn't know there were cobras on the islands, Yikes! We wandered all over Phi Phi back then and never saw a tourist except on the beaches. Like all tourists, I feel like I contributed to the degradation of these places.
@TravelRoads3 жыл бұрын
@@ggauche3465 You're so right. I struggle with this too - my desire to see the entire world vs knowing I contributed to the degradation of a place... I'm not sure what the answer is.

Yes, there's electricity, wifi, and water, but from what I know it's not public electricity. The energy is produced via diesel generators and that makes things expensive..Thanks for your comment :)
