As an Englishman of a certain age, and having lived in Toronto for 5 years, I take great comfort in your channel Peter. Your competence, skill and obvious experience, alongside your comfortable yet informative manner makes enjoyable viewing. Easily likened to an old English TV show hosted by a character, Jack Hargreaves, called Out of Town. He championed countryside skills, oft dwindling skills that were giving way to new-fangled approaches. His intent being awareness, so that these skills, and simpler independent lifestyle were not forgotten. Wishing you the very best in luck and life.

Thanks Peter, your work ethic and commitment to task is most impressive and, as a fellow a few years older than yourself, am reminded of how much you can achieve in a day. Many of your methods are worth committing to a book. All best wishes as you move forward and continue to keep us vicariously involved in your life on the water

Your channel and work is a true dichotomy. You do some things so thoroughly and well thought out. Others like this glass project is like watching a train wreck. You should fully seal the glass mating area prior to the sealant application and then tape off the acrylic and wood surface. Also it would be 10 times easier to apply finish to the would before the glass installation. You will need to totally strip the wood when you put in the actual glass in the future. You are making wonderful content but it’s strange boat building.

The upper helm is looking fantastic, Peter, you make it look so easy but as any boat builder knows, it takes a lot of time, and no book learning can give you an insight into how Complex , some of these fit ups are Especially to make them look original

Most large / major place names come from the two expeditions that first charted the area. Vancouver named many things after his crew, people he knew, etc. As did Quadra, who named lots of islands after his crew: Galiano, Cortez, Gabriola... I am sure it’s all in your book!

Peter could of course made it possible to make an installation for lowering that canopy temporerly and later lift it again, but I think Peter secretly had the thought Geordie would look smoother wit a lower canopy ;-)

Oh man, without the canvas that would have just barely let Geordie inside the shed! I look forward every Sunday to the new episode and so enjoy the bonus episodes… Almost time for Geordie to book it out of the shed and make space for Zephyrus. Seems like that progress is well underway. Galley next???
