Over the years we have cruised to most of these places. Some very special memories up there. If you get the urge to go a bit farther north check out the Octopus Islands area. Cheers! (My memory is that there is a tidal waterfall between the Octopus Islands and Owen bay to the north. Watch your tide!)

Not only Canadians but Australians too would also remember Beachcombers (it aired the ABC- the national broadcaster here). And, as with Canadians they’d have to be over 50 as well - it was a long time ago!

I do like the awning on your boat, but suggest a slight a slight re-design when you next replace the canvas cover. Remove the port to starboard ribs of the awning and run them foreword to aft. It would flow with the lines of the boat and look awesome. Keep the camber in the port to starboard ribs at each end. It would be awesome to see. Regardless, I do love what you have done with your boat.

It IS some of the best cruising in the world. I grew up in Seattle, spent my first 38yrs there sailing, but for pure visual scenari, the smells, the tastes, the sweet cool breeze, it's incredibly hard to beat. I can still smell the Firs and Cedars cooking off in the sun, the salty air on my lips, the cool breeze in my face, it's intoxicating.

It is really spectacular! Living in SE Alaska I'm sometimes envious of the little luxuries you have in BC but otherwise I prefer the more actual isolation of the rugged SE Alaskan panhandle and the relative lack of crowding. It has to be said though that the preponderance of Charter boats do introduce an element of rivalry and even unfriendliness compared to the easy going nature of all other boatpeople as evidenced in your videos. Great video and an amazing amount of work thanks Mr Peter!

Truly Epic edit! Worthy of 100k + was my thought I would need to mine out the episodes for a list then lo you do it. Ferro-cement WW2 merchant fleet wouldn’t sink so easy so they towed out to sea and still underestimated the explosives required. Navy got tired of doing target practice on them. Have to be on my list, have not seen a hulk since childhood.

Hi Peter, great channel. BTW, Beachcombers was played in Australia for years with a few runs. I would love to see those boats and cruise that area. That show was educational as my dad was a "Piner" (Huon Pine logger) in the Franklin/Gordon/Spero Rivers in Tasmania in the 1930's towing logs with rowing punts. My father loved the scenery in the TV show promting him to share his stories with us.

Different geology, with BCs high mountains an gravely beaches and rocks, compared to the low profile of Sthlm Archiplelagos ice age polished granite cliffs. I suppose the waters are qiute shelterd by the high shores and mountains surrounding. Beautiful!
