Already using the new UI and Google maps work fine out of the box, nothing I did for the special setup. But the new UI is 👌 especially that dual view with apps showing at the bottom

I am waiting for this update. It is currently showing Jan 11 2023 as last updated in the play store for me. I am running on Android 12. They seems to be rolling this out in a phased manner. Beta slots are also full.

Based on your input, I think it is better to go with a 4K Dual Channel dashcam which will provide you with highest quality footage along from both front and back of the car.
