One travel essential I have is chapstick. My lips always are dry but especially when traveling. I usually take a few because you know they get lost so easily! I actually like the skull candy style earphones...iphone earphones fall out! Must depend on shape of ear canal. Hi Laurie, it’s Rhonda. Another travel essential I keep in my purse, I just thought about what I do, (I Carrie this with me at all times, not only when traveling,), is, keep a written list of ALL surgeries & ALL meds with dose & times of day they are taken, with me. That way, if something should ever happen to me, (knock on wood), they can give that to the Dr. if need be. I also keep a list of all my meds, along with...doses, mg, how often I take them, which Dr. prescribed it & what symptom it’s for, in my phone since I always have my phone with me, & I don’t always have my purse. Anyway, just a thought. Again, I really really love watching your videos. Thank you so much. 😀

I was traveling with grandchildren and wanted to take something smaller to put my pills/supplements in and was child proof. I asked my pharmacy for a larger pill contained that was child proof, and they were very kind to give me one free. I have tiny plastic bags (1 1/2 inch square) which can be purchased in the jewelry craft department of Walmart or craft store (about $1 for 50). I marked them am or pm, put the appropriate days pills in each and put them in the pill bottle. This worked for me, and this took up less space than other pill boxes I looked into. I also put in a couple of days extra pills in case of some kind of delay and I also put my list of pills/dosage in there in case of emergency. I enjoy your videos.

I use my good old Kindle Keyboard 3 on the plane (got it brand new last year) for audiobooks, and I keep ginger chews handy in case I get hit with AMS (has happened in the past, so I'm always prepared) - sometimes prophylactically, sometime to treat it; I also take snacks on the plane (apple slices and hummus is my current favorite - I have plenty of room to put the hummus in the liquids bag). I print my boarding passes because I don't have a smartphone, and do it before I leave home (saves time at the airport), then keep it in my shirt pocket once I get past security (keeps it super handy but still secure). I take my own water bottle empty through security, then make sure to fill it up after - saves me a bunch of money buying it in the airport, and I don't have to worry about condensation. I also use noise cancelling headphones on the plane 1) so that I can actually hear the audiobook I'm listening to, and 2) to dampen the noise of takeoff and landing (the engine revving and the brakes engaging are just too loud for my poor sensitive ears). The next time I travel, I'll get to try out my compression socks by Sockwell - love them for everyday, but really excited to see how they work on the plane.

The entire box is usually not much bigger than the quart sized toiletries bag. I also load my phone and laptop up with games that do not need internet. You can also download some movies too. How can I roll up my clothes in a backpack

Allison, I have no idea why I am just now seeing this. Sorry. Thanks for watching it though. Hopefully we can travel again soon.

A lot of Airports like Baltimore, Charlotte and Orlando have their own app as well. They can be super helpful with gps map locations if your next flight is in another terminal as some of mine have been. Also, I know you (Laurie) don't like it, but I find for long flights the poncho style jackets with NO sewn sleeve holes works well to double as a blanket when on board for a long haul. I never use back packs due to my hip issues so it works better for someone like me than someone who does use a backpack. I also recently saw a interesting hack by Paleo Postman in a video called Suitcases How to Pull Them involving belts or in my case luggage straps. It shows how you can pull up to three rolling suitcases on one hand at the same time almost effortlessly. Also Skull Candy makes great over ear buds like those you showed too. www.skullcandy.com/shop/earbuds/sport-earbuds/chops-flex I find Skull Candy is good quality for lower price. I personally like the ear buds though because I can sleep on my side with them in.

Emily, I love that you mentioned the airport apps. I had not even looked at those! I kind of think the sleeveless ponchos would work. I tried on a short sleeved one the other day, and it did not. But like you said, without a backpack, it's not an issue. Thanks so much!

@@TravelTipsbyLaurie some apps work well. Others not so much. Sometimes it depends on the wifi

It is a phone stand. It grabs the sides and the arm keeps it from falling.
