Again, I am a huge fan. So this is one of your best efforts. Well paced, well edited, you left in a few funny family moments, and you do such a great job of describing the various flavors. I have gotton a bit turned off by other sites who specialize in the pay for options. I kind of expect they would be great. Love it that you guys are the everyone cruise experience with an enlighten palate. I loke also how she takes things and combines ingredients on the plate that highlight the dish, and uses extra citrus. She is obviously a lovely woman, though not too much so as to distract with too much make up. Of all the cruise sites I like I rank you right with Ben and David and Emma as my favorites. Again, very well done!

@laurawgarts, did you go yet? Rotterdam, being the newest ship in that fleet, has very nice amenities, amazing range of art collections, excellent guest-to-employee ratios, and awesome decor in the Dining Rooms. It is a unique experience every evening on one of the lower decks with so many different musical performances and venues....which you can enjoy before and after your dinner and before and after the main showroom entertainments. I read that Holland America repositioned this ship around April last year to house Ukrainian refugees from Rotterdam, Holland, where its name originates. I kept thinking that those must have been the best treated refugees in the world last year!

We actually really like the main stream cruise lines- Carnival, Royal, NCL, HAL, Princess & Celebrity. They all have good service actually, and some ships have more bells & whistles than others. The ones that aren't as fancy often have better food, however. The newer ships are going to have better amenities & rooms.

Thank you very much! 😊 She call them as she see (or in this case, taste) them actually 😁. Holland America has really good food quality & service. I would say probably the best combination of those two attributes of any other mainstream line. Did see some cutbacks but that's the way it is seems for all the lines lately. We haven't gone on Princess since 2018 but definitely would love to go back sooner than later, but have heard that their food quality has gone down.

Is it true that even in the main dining rooms of cruise ships that one can ask for multiple dinners such as two steaks or other dishes to sample the complete menu? A friend told me that when he and his wife cruised, he would ask for two steaks, crab legs, etc.

A couple weeks ago on HAL four of us each ordered whatever we wanted. Then we ordered an entree (or two) for the middle of the table, so we could taste other offerings. BTW on the last evening my friend expressed to waiter that he missed creme brûlée not being offered on any night. He was promptly brought a beautiful, fresh one. Was told he could've asked for it any night he wanted it.

can't wait to go on Rotterdam over Christmas. We did one Hal, on Koningsdam, and found the food to be a tad better, 'fancier' choices than the usual Carnival/NCL/Royal. We like those too, but Hal and Celebrity are just a tad more upscale. Those two have lamb, the others either don't or maybe you'll see it once in a 7 nighter. I like getting lamb and beef. I don't think I ever get chicken b/c I just figure that's so easy to get anytime, and it's just a 'blank palette'. But lamb, seafood, and beef I'll typically get. Duck is good too. So that menu that had duck and also beef/lobster, I'd have agonized over that one...

Just said on HAL MS Eurodam and NO lobster night! That was a perk one looks forward to. You can however buy a lobster tail for like 30 bucks and it’s so small and you only get two or three bites out of it….
