I’m really intrigued by the lasagna bolognese. The color was exquisite, and Joann’s review got me excited about it. The crawfish phyllo dish looked wonderful too. I’m getting much closer to booking a sailing with Carnival now. Seems like for so long all you saw was the fights and brawls on Carnival. All in all, the fare looks pretty standard, but not at all boring. I like that. The presentation is great too!

Thanks for the comment Scott! 😊 We haven't seen any bad guest behavior from our Carnival cruises, but I suppose when you have so many ships things are bound to happen here and there. But yeah their food was pretty tasty overall. That was a really good lasagna, and the phyllo and similar dishes were executed well with the buttery crust and savory insides.

Enjoyed this video immensely. Going on the Firenze in a few weeks. The lamb pasta looked amazing, I would like to try the soups, that short rib looked so tender and the sauce very rich. The chocolate melting cake was too runny the night you had it. I love that dessert. I would like to try that other chocolate dessert too. Looking forward to part 2.

Nice to know piracy is alive and well on the high seas. $3.50 for a teabag is ridiculous! David, your “guide” to reading the menu is helpful to those unfamiliar 👍🏻 Joanna, I know I’ve told you before, but your facial expressions are adorable. Perhaps consider a short video of facial expressions only, with no commentary. Keep up the great work. By far you are the best cruise food creators out there.

Yeah the dining room had nice decor- that's pretty unique to have a gondola in the middle, and it was probably a real one. For dinner, they do have a pasta dish for main entree, but you can also order it as a starter 🙂

Another great video. Personally, I have always thought that the food AND the service in Carnival MDRs is very underrated and teh food looks so much better than my RCL and NCL experiences. With the inclusion of the Emeril Classics, I think that there will be at least a couple of nights where i will be tempted to dig into my pocket to pay for a third entree. Is the Carnival menu system wide or is this the "Carnival Cruising Italian Style" on the old Costa ships? This video is really making me look forward to the April 2025 cruise we have booked on the Carnival Magic. I would generally NEVER order lasagna but that was the best lasagna that I have seen. Also the lamb looked really great. We have not cruised since January due to DW's health BUT we will cruise for 30 days in September.

Thanks JL! 😊 Agree with you that Carnival's MDR is underrated- a few misses but mostly well-executed dishes. I think on the Venezia and the Firenze there are a few extra Italian dishes, or at least they replaced the English names with Italian. We really liked that lasagna and lamb too- those were two of the bests from part 1. Glad to hear that your wife is doing better- that's going to be amazing cruising the entire month! 🛳️🎉🙌

I'm honestly a little surprised at the dining room situations - I feel like on the Carnival Venezia the dining rooms are backwards. The your time dinning is in the prettier dining room, which confuses me tbh but both look way better than most Carnival ships in my opinion. Probably my new favorite ship despite the weird dinning arrangements. Personally not a fan of your time dining but I also did that when it first came out so maybe it was a disaster just because it was new?? We waited like 2 hrs for a table after checking in at opening and then were moved around a ton (during meals) due to shifting amounts of people. I am just really hesitant to do that again... Thank you for posting though - super details and clear images and video of all that was shown. Very helpful for those looking into the ship for research or preparation of a cruise. :)

Our pleasure- thanks for the comment! 😊 Yeah to prevent that long wait, we made sure to reserve, using the app, about 10 minutes before the dining room opens (for us it opened at 5 PM), and typically there's a table ready by 5:05 PM. Later it could get very busy and the wait would be much longer.

This will be my first time on carnival coming up in just a few weeks. I’m scheduled for the late dinner, and I’m assuming that would be in the buffet dining room? Also, could I not show up one night for the late dinner and just make a reservation to come down to the main dining room to eat? It looks like this main dining room has a much better selection of food than the buffet.

The late dining would be in the main dining room as well. The buffet is located at the pool deck (typically deck 9 or 10), at a restaurant called Lido Marketplace, whereas the main dinner restaurants are located on a lower deck e.g. deck 5. We'll be putting up a video covering Carnival's dinner buffet for 2024, but they do also have some items you find in the main dining restaurant.

@@TravelTouristVideos oh OK! So basically I’m going to be eating on deck five I just have a specific time to be there by so whether I am anytime or at 8:15 I’m still gonna be at that restaurant and not at the buffet.

If you have Anytime/Your Time dining, you can go before 8:15, even as early as 5 PM which is what we do. But if you have the late seating at 8:15 that would be the time you go. But you are certainly welcome to go to the buffet before that as it opens at 6 PM and closes at 9:30 PM. Also if the late seating is actually something you don't want, go early to the main dining restaurant the FIRST night (maybe 4:50 PM) and talk to the dining manager there who will likely be able to change your dinner time to early seating or Your Time for the rest of the cruise.

This is a wonderful video. Thank you! As a pescatarian, I do not like the choices. Plus, i didn't think the food looked too appetizing. The melting chocolate cake looks like raw cake batter.

Actually it’s a warm sauce in the middle of the chocolate cake, very tasty especially with a bit of vanilla ice cream.

It sure is. Most places are free to eat at except the ones that are called "specialty restaurants", and the items at the Javablue Cafe

The bread pudding reaction was spot on..too funny. I didn't like the look of the melting chocolate cake..to me it just looked like raw batter. I didn't see much food that would interest me..I am not an adventurous eater. Maybe chicken. Or a couple vegetarian dishes. Love her orange dress and the off the shoulder blue one. Good taste shows.

You can order as many appetiziers and desserts, and 2 main entrees. You can order more than 2 mains, but it would be $5 extra.

What is SCHEZWAN SHRIMP?

If you mean the spelling- yeah I wondered about that too how Carnival spelled it Schezwan, but apparently that are restaurants and recipes spelling it like that, so I didn't change it. I'm more used to Szechuan or Sichuan. Typically those dishes are very spicy, and yeah the one in the video was only mildly spicy.

You guys are sooooo particular! You must have an award winning chef employed to cook your meals at home! There may be a few foods that I don't care for on the menu, which I don't order, but I can't think of any food I've had on my numerous Carnival cruise that hasn't been excellent! You guys are way too picky and probably think you're entitled.
