Travelvids definitely on the top of my list. I've always been fascinated with Cape Town.

Nice video. Best is an interesting word though. Best for a visiting tourist or fitness fanatic if they want a very quick and direct route up, but there are some other much more scenic and enjoyable trails to take up the mountain too. Much love from a fellow Capetonian hiker 👌🏻🫡🤠🇿🇦

you will have loads of fun. leave from the waterfront or city centre and end in Camps Bay and take the myciti or uber home, you dont have to take it back.

Went there four days ago and took this exact same route after i went back to relocate where I got lost and realizing I made an ignorant mistake while walking in the right trail...long story short due to getting lost and water shortages (which was solved by the stream on the way ) it took 7 hours to reach the top but the view was worth it and I'm definitely going back

Awesome job guys! Really great to see how you brought out the rainbow nation on the trail.

I climbed Table Mountain in 1969. I climbed up the opposite end of the cable car and walked across the top of the mountain to the cable car. I went down the mountain in the cable car.

in 2017 I hiked down that gorge in jeans; chuck taylors and no water. i took the tram to the top of table mountain but choose to hike down on a whim it was sketchy.

Beautiful trail. What's the elevation gain from the start of the trail to the top? And what's the mileage of this trail from the bottom to top?

Thank you for this video!!!! How much does it cost? Do i have to book?
@Travelvids4 жыл бұрын
No cost to walk up n down... The cable car does cost, but you can buy tickets at the top, get a one way down like we did.

Awesome video. I'm a solo traveler from the US thinking to do this hike in the next few days. Everyone in the video seems so friendly. Do you think people on the trail would be open to me joining their group? What do you think is the best time to do it? Early morning or afternoon to catch the sunset?
@Travelvids8 жыл бұрын
+Sam Swed hey Sam people are so chilled on the Mountain especially South Africans. Just ask them as you walk towards the path. Morning or afternoon, but the wind normally blows in the afternoon in Cape Town and they might close the cable car down. When the really blows the mountain also gets covered with a cloud so you cant see anything. Enjoy your hike.
@gnarlytothemax8 жыл бұрын
great advice! if you could only do one hike, table mountain or lions head, which would you suggest? I will only be in town for 2-3 days and might not get a chance to do both.
@Travelvids8 жыл бұрын
+Sam Swed lots of good hikes around but nothing like Table Mountain the view wins every time. We normally walk up and take the cable car down. If you are walking down leave between 5-6 or it will get busy.

*instead of climbing, can you take the cable car to go up?*
@Travelvids5 жыл бұрын
absolutely yes you can

Would you recommend doing this with a baby in the carrier?
@Travelvids7 ай бұрын
its a hard one, if you are really fit, then yest, but their are some tricky sections with big steps ups, so keep someone close by for balance. And go early before the sun hits you.

cool vid but definitely not the nicest route up table mountain. This is probably the most repetitive and boring route one can take.
@mmangweni3 жыл бұрын
Which route you'd recommend?
@daniel_johnson_pmbpk3 жыл бұрын
@@mmangweni for experienced hikers, Ferny Dell, Grotto-Fountain Cairn or Kloof Corner Pinnacle are absolutely spectacular, but for those without as much experience, a route like Skeleton Gorge, for example, is much more interesting than Platteklip
