Similarly, they observed the USA and realized how extreme Capitalist society could end up looking like. Technically this narrative is not correct, and made confusion of economy and political aspects. There are two part of CPC China's history, in 1949-1976 CPC China's system is not a copy of USSR too in many ways, and even less "Capitalism"(and have both benefit and drawbacks). After 1978, China's private part of industry introduced Capitalism, and then gradually you could call it "State Capitalism". Btw, not all the economy out-fruit came from last 40 years, and not all the "adjustments" have more good results.

There is the same system for the building maintenance as you indicated in China, which depends on where you live, and usually for the older building if there’s no property management staff there some older people would do the cleaning voluntarily, or maybe not, but each household will do their own interior renovation for sure. For the newer building and residential area, there’s the property management and the staff will help clean the lobby and take care of the greenery as you mentioned in the video.

Chongqing is one of 4 directly administered (by the central govt) municipalities in China... the other 3 being Beijing, Shanghai & Tianjin. The 33mil population often quoted is for the entire Chongqing municipality whose land area is even larger than the smallest province (Ningxia). But the population of the urban built up area of the city proper itself is actually only 22-23 mil. So let's not get confused by this.
