During the 1980s I did Delhi Jullundur , Delhi Amritsar, Delhi Jammu Srinagar Leh Manali Chandigarh and Delhi , several times on my motorcycle. I had different bikes at different periods of time . Yezdi, Bullet, Rajdoot Yamaha 350, 1955 Triumph 650 twin and a 1953 Sunbeam 1100. I also did long road trips like Jullundur Calcutta Bombay Jullundur , Jullundur Jhansi Jullundur etc. Because of the Punjab crisis, there was a lot of Police harassment outside Punjab because my bikes had a Punjab number. Also, cops couldn't understand the concept of road trips and wondered why I was on a motorcycle and not in a train. Adding to that was the fact that I had a trimmed beard and short hair, and I wore a helmet. On my license was my photo with a turban . And even more, I was in my 20s then.

@Vineetp1980 Yes, I did enjoy those road trips. I will say that back then it was also more challenging. No GPS, no cellphones, none of that fancy equipment that we see today. I relied on road maps and directions from truck and bus drivers. Overnight stops at truck dhabas where there was a hot meal and a khaat to sleep on. Morning was in the fields followed by a bath at the tube well haudi of the dhaba. Yes, it was tiring but enjoyable.

My hometown is Jalandhar ❤️I came to Milan, Italy in May-2023. I came to Delhi Airport in the same bus. It was like reliving the same memories again. I am in europe now but still I miss India very much. Bahr paisa hai, mehnge phones hai, mehngi gaadiya hai lekin India toh INDIA hai. Great vlog bhai👍👍

I live in Los Angeles. No need to deal with these bus journeys. Fly directly to Amritsar , and that is my base. From there I make my visits to Jullundur, Delhi, Chandigarh, Bombay and Jammu. And then fly out from Amritsar back home to Los Angeles. Btw Jullundur was my hometown till 1996, when I left for USA. Now its Los Angeles.

I travelled once about 5 years back from IGI to Amritsar. Terrible experience. Rude and indifferent staff, half the facilities don't work on these old buses, the bus sways from side to side because the drivers are rash, they stop for meals in the middle of the night, at a time when you want to sleep. At Jalandhar, they offloaded us and made us wait for 3 hours to go to Amritsar, which was in an old Tata Sumo. And the delay was because we were waiting for more passengers from the next bus. Kaanon ko hatth lagaya - never again!! Better to take a train, so much more comfortable!!

I traveled twice with the Indocanadian bus. The outside looks fine, but inside of bus, it is very low quality. Paid 3000 Rs but feel like traveling in 20 years old roadwase garadge bus.
