Bro!!! Thank YOU! Its so many documentations out on the internet that are snippets and would leave an inexperienced user stuck. I'm thankful to be experienced. I know I could've read and followed the documentation (which I eventually will, its inevitable), but I'm thankful for videos like this because it gives experienced developers a quick dive into developing and prototyping with the api, without having a billion browser tabs open and scratching our heads 👍👍

Hi Brad, Once again a great video tutorial. Just a couple of things to note. This may pertain only to me as newbee to nodejs and developing webapps. Please take these comments as good feedback and constructive a) You tend to speed up the tutorial at certain areas, especially getting to the pointy end of the video. It will be beneficial to advise the view to pause at certain points to take down notes or try themselves. b) This tutorial does not work for Chromium web browser. I just wanted to let you know. I tried it with Firefox with great results. Once again thank you for the tutorial and sincerely look forward for your instruction material to reach the mass audience.

Thank you brad! This is exactly what I need. One question, in the app.get('/success') function. there is a const execute_payment_json object there. Since the "total": "25.00" is hardcoded in this tutorial, how can I get the amount through needed because there is no query that sets the amount. If it is in the post method, I can take it via req.body through the form element. but this is the get route. How do you I get this total through app.post('/pay') function. Many thanks!
@bradbaguyo73746 жыл бұрын
@Emmanuel Flores I solved this using mongoDB. I created a model in mongoose and save the payment of a user in mongoDB. From there, I do db.find({ }) inside app.post('/pay') and so on...

Thanks Brad, as usual you are very concise and clear. But in the success URL we need to have a route parameter that tells us which item is to be sold, so that we can at least get the price that will be payed, and if it is a phyisical item we should decrease the number of available items ... etc. so i think the route should be: app.get('success/:itemID', .... and the success url would be: "return_url" : "localhost:3000/success/12345" where "12345" is the itemtID of the current operation.

Loved this!!! Can you do a video on invoices.... lets say you had an app that allows your users to send paypal invoices, how would you approach this in terms of getting your user's paypal account authenticated, creating your invoice template maybe, creating the invoice and sending it... I mean i understand it in theory but a video wouldn't hurt, I like how you really simplified this one.
