Such a tight and even performance. Perfectly supports the song. Way to go! Love it.

TRAVIS BARKER IS THE GOAT OF DRUMMERS MAN, DONT EVEN NEED TO HEAR THE SONG
@LBird448 жыл бұрын
lots of people hate'n on Travis. I dig him, he plays to compliment the song and the artists he's playing with. As a drummer there is a time and a place for OVER PLAYING, this was not one of them. He kept it simple and low key, as needed.
@mOBSCENE13836 жыл бұрын
exactly. he made it sound good in his style. Barker always has his unique style, but he does it w/o trying to steal the show from the other artists. his drum cover to 3AM by em was sick though!

@@Stardust_Lei978 Remo is a drumhead company so they're promoting the heads. They do the same on zildjian vids and mute the drums to highlight the cymbals

i think there called concert toms so it projects the sound more it was a massive thing in the 80s but im not 100% sure on that thought i would give some insight towards what your question was about hope that helps :)
@yourdrumsound8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they're colled "concert". Were used on drum kit during the 70's for a short and "muted" sound. Think Travis play with concert floor tom for the same reason. Anyhow.. single headed drums work great in the studio!! Dave
@hartzy74258 жыл бұрын
What cymbals are they? Never heard that kind of sound before...
@samedits9998 жыл бұрын
Well that's because you can only hear the sound from the close tom/snare/bass drum mics, they must have muted the overheads (that get the sound from the cymbals) because the point of the video is to focus on remo
@clever80888 жыл бұрын
all of them are stacks. So two cymbals on top of each other.
@samedits9998 жыл бұрын
Not for all of them though
@nelss7467 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it is a Remo video so they were trying to get out any sound that would cloud the sound of the heads. So they basically muted the vocals a lot and all the cymbals. His cymbals sound fantastic though usually. He uses A Custom Quick Beat Hats, FX 16"(?) crash, and a few stacks, as well as a Ping Ride or a Projection Ride I think. Here is a link to the cymbals he uses: zildjian.com/artists/travis-barker
@jaydoode157 жыл бұрын
Nels S the cymbals are stacked with splashes, so basically muted. The audio of this video is coming directly from the camera, not the drum mics.

I dont think they're stackers... I think it just might be EQ on the Drum mics and since this is Remo's video they isolated the drum mic track so it only hears what sounds like the attack of the drums

They're not stacks, straight up (I assume) A Customs by Zildjian, as that's what Travis primarily plays. They sound crappy probably because they aren't prominent in the mix. Personally, I feel that the snare sounds like crap, kind of pingy and tinny. I prefer more body and low end crack. Cheers.

+Kyle Adams They don't have overhead mics oand they're made to be kinda raw as you're listening, that's the one he uses when he's playing with rap/hip-hop/DJ artists since you don't want your cymbal sound to last long, you need it just for that beat.

I am not normally a fan of this geezer but his snare work was crisp and his diddlers controlled and his tom work was simple but effective. Maybe he’s finally growing up at 52 😁. Those that get tumescent at his bs overplaying will not like that comment. How dare you use humour it is strictly verboten.
