Didn’t have to play the Top 4 teams in the very mid Big-12, didn’t play steam that finished the season ranked, their SOS at 71 was the 4th easiest among Power 5 teams, I would argue even the easiest, as that is inflated By Nebraska (6-6) and KSU (8-4, 5-4 in conference) being ranked when they played, and very close to Boise’s 79 SOS. The point of this is not to necessarily knock Hunter, but since Jeanty is always criticized for playing in the MW, they actually had quite comparable SOS. 29:30 temperamentally, it’s a proclivity toward the Openness trait. Creativity is a high risk but high reward attribute/philosophy/life style, etc. In the Travis Hunter experiment, the risks for Deion were life threatening, but the reward was that he successfully challenged the orthodoxy of college football and altered the sport at all levels, professional down to youth. You can have elite talent play on both sides of the ball at an elite level, and that earth shattering mindset shift will be attributed toward Deion. That is the foresight you were talking about Joel, he was creative enough to identify the talent, see the opportunity and create a process, and stuck to the vision to avoid bulking to the pressure. The mental gymnastics of Joel Klatt. So if your logic for Heisman is simply a person who has done something we’ve never seen before then you’d be willing to put a field goal kicker for Heisman who hits 20 60 yarders in a season? The Heisman is the best player who also elevates their team to greatness. If that’s Travis Hunter then fine, but as far as I can tell Colorado isn’t even in the 12 team playoff. By that metric alone, he did not elevate his team to greatness.
@dankcoyoteАй бұрын
What did Colorado do against their one rival who’s in a tougher conference? They got embarrassed by Nebraska. Sitting here yanking on Jeanty. Jeanty played against Oregon and carried his team into the playoffs with 1 loss to the #1 team who has the other Heisman candidate who put in work against #3 Ohio State, and #2 Penn State leading them to an undefeated season. Promoting Hunter and Sanders who didn’t even go to the conference championship in the Big12. Yeah, no wonder they looked amazing. Colorado would be 6-6 in the B1G or SEC. A lot of Heisman candidates coming off a 6-6 team? Your bias is so insufferable.
@jmtz3149Ай бұрын

The main problem with the portal is that the kids still have to be registered for spring semesters. Some schools start around January 5th. They need to have the title game end by January 1st and allow the portal to open up January 2nd through until MLK Day-end January, so kids can be registered for classes and kids can be committed to their teams for the playoffs/bowl games.
@GoatedAtNFSАй бұрын

@@GoatedAtNFS I know they don’t care but they still have to have some kind of eligibility. Just saying, when they decide, they have to think about the long term, not only the short term. I listen to every episode of this show and I think you are the best voice in college football, but I will not listen anymore. I know this doesn’t matter to you because you have 2 million TikTok views. You’re glazing of Colorado has gone too far. The way you claim bias against Colorado and Deon sanders, but then let the bias against the mountains west go right over your head is insane. There was a triple crown winner, Nick Nash, who should have won the Wr award. Don’t act like Travis hunter just deserved that. Then, we are about to have the NCAA all time leading rusher and you say it shouldn’t even be close. You are out of your mind and sooooooo bias it is not longer funny and I can no longer support.
@connormalan7993Ай бұрын
I agree with what you've said to a point. Travis could be the best player in college football and have a "historic" season. But, when people are talking about Jeanty they aren't using the same wording because apparently what he did was a "remarkable" season. One guy was actually able to carry his team to games that mattered while the other guy couldn't WHILE HAVING SANDERS who will also go top 5 in this class. Jeanty had no help compared to Hunter. I agree Hunter should have won the award but saying that one guy was "clearly" the Heisman is absolutely moronic.
@ubadman1Ай бұрын
no it absolutely shouldve been hunter and the fact it was even close is asinine. Jentry plays in non power 5 league and what he is doing has been done before by players who didnt win the Heisman in power 5 football. That UCF interception and the touchdown against Baylor were insane! Additionally there were like two catches this year that Travis made that would have usually been PI, but Travis still caught them. Those were wild! Just so many plays that were actually insane from Travis. I think Travis and Jeanty could have both deserved it. I’m tired of people saying Jeanty was robbed. It was very deserving for both. Additionally, Colorado was in the 4 way tie of the big 12, and tired of people using that as means to discredit Travis too. And then Travis was hurt for one of their ranked team games.

Joel man I like you but I feel like try as you may, you can't shake the Colorado bias from creeping in. I don't think your justifications are unrealistic but I feel like you conveniently left out things that weaken your case. Mainly that Colorado really never sniffed a chance at the playoff (other teams unprecedentedly lost to give them a chance and they still blew that) and that Colorado got worked by an average Big10 school. So I think when you said Jeanty could have been knocked for playing in the Moutain West I think it's equally fair to knock Travis for doing this in the Big12. Then, with that comparison in mind, at least Jeanty was essentially a one man offense that drove his team to the playoff. Team success matters to a lot of voters and if you remove Jeanty from Boise I don't think they win 8 games. If you remove Travis from Colorado, I don't think their record is any different (after all you had Shedeur at #3). Also Travis missed some time this year. Just my thoughts, both are worthy contenders but if you're going to compare the two at least cover all the angles.
