Advice my wife lived by with our boys. Sleep when the baby sleeps. Don't use the baby's nap times for you to get things done, the chances to nap are never scheduled but will be very welcome. The things you let slide will still be there tomorrow. Accept peoples offers to help. Don't worry if the house isn't spotless or things pile up a bit, visitors will understand. Travis can step up to do things you normally do.

+iceman22st Seriously, this is the best advice ever - I wish so much I'd done this first time around and I can't recommend enough that any new mum does this!!! :)

she can't sleep when baby sleeps because she is holding her in her arms all the time and rocking her to sleep.......good luck for her when baby gonna be bigger and heavier

+iceman22st That's exactly what I was going to say. Sleep when Kinsley sleeps.
@britishbiatch0078 жыл бұрын
looool most off the time you can't sleep when baby sleeps... cause you have shit to do for the baby that you need to get done first. barely anytime to sleep.. specially when they need to be fed every 2 to 3 hours when born
@NoodleyBits8 жыл бұрын
britishbiatch007 That stuff will all be there when you wake up.

Best advice I ever got was to sleep when the baby sleeps. Don't be afraid to wake her if she is sleeping all day after the first month. Also if you need food eat tuna, peanut butter, fresh fruit, and a bit of chocolate will make your milk rich. Since she is the first child if you can restrain yourself from using baby talk and just talk normally to her, her vocabulary skills will be advanced. Don't forget to tell her how smart she is. girls always get oh what a pretty baby compliments, throw in that she is smart and pretty and it helps their little self esteem to have that support from the start. Above all else enjoy her while she is this little. My son just turned 11 and it seems like the time just went by so fast. Take as many pictures as you can of her first year so you can tell her the story of how she got here and the milestones. It will be a story she will want to hear over and over.

+nerdfighter4 It does go by super fast, my oldest will be 9 in a few weeks and it seems like yesterday he was a baby, I have 3 kids, almost 9, 5 1/2 and 2 1/2, baby stage is all but gone, we are almost done with potty training the last one, I don't even remember the sleepless nights anymore

Advice from a Mom..play music or ambient noises at all times around Kinsley. You guys are keeping things too quiet around her..you want her to be able to sleep anywhere under any condition. Also work towards a schedule and try to lightly keep her awake for even an extra hr before u want to sleep. That way u will get five straight hrs instead of 3-4. Also start pumping to increase your milk production. She will get more milk at one time then and stay more content longer. This next part will depend on your beliefs with foods. But one tsp of cereal in her milk starting at 8-10 wkwas will help her sleep better. So pump and mix just a half tsp in the beginning in 4-8 oz of breast milk. It helps to satisfy her cravings both of my children by 6-8 was general slept 7-8 hrs thru the night and it is amazing. Good luck😀

IF you want your sleep back. you need to try to keep kinsley up as much as poss during the day. I woke my sleeping baby's up for all feedings and did not keep the house quit. they were both sleeping all night at 6 weeks.now they are 16yrs and 10 1/2yrs old. I started waking them up during the day when I starting getting very sleep deprived.I couldn't take it anymore. hope this helps!

Advise from another Mom: If Travis has all this energy and can go out and do things with friends while Jenny is home exhausted, then Jenny is doing too much and Travis isn't doing enough with the baby. No offense Travis, I think you will be a great dad, but BOTH parents at this point should be sleep deprived and spending equal time with baby. Yes, even nights. I know Jenny has the Milk, but take turns getting up to get the baby. When it's Travis' turn, you get up to get baby to bring to Jenny and stay completely awake while she nurses so she can be 1/2 in 1/2 out of sleep while nursing, then Trav burps baby, comforts and gets her back to sleep.
@purpledragonfly48 жыл бұрын
+whynot184 I agree. There was no reason that after Jenny said she was tired, Travis couldn't of taken care of the baby and the house and let Jenny sleep for a little while. He even said she was delirious and then headed on out.
@christinakouros42778 жыл бұрын
+whynot184 You only see 10 mins of their entire day... I'm sure he helps a lot but he also works and supports the family that way. I do agree that he should take all the time that he can to help with the baby but we don't know the full story.
@kimberl66308 жыл бұрын
Your right! At this point they both should be sprawled out on the couch sleeping but I do think new Moms need to not be afraid to wake the baby up during the day and walk and talk with her..she will sleep quicker on a schedule that way.
@sydneyelise72608 жыл бұрын
+Kimber B When my boyfriend is beyond exhausted he gets super excited and hyper. So do not assume he doesn't help or is not tired. This is just an unnecessary comment. You have no right to judge someone's parenting when you are not there 24/7.

+Sydney Turner So right going to a skank car wash ..is doing Jenny tons of good. Wasn't straight up judging them. Jenny just looks beyond exhausted and would love to see her not so stressed!

You guys will find a routine that works for you. The first 2 months are the toughest (I have 3 kids). Sleep when baby sleeps and don't worry about the small things like cleaning, cooking etc. get some help from friends and family to lighten the load. Mum needs TLC, rest and good food. Just remember you are doing a great job even if it doesn't feel like it on some days. ❤️❤️❤️ from Australia!! See you guys soon!
@LauraBidingCitizen8 жыл бұрын
I know lots of others have given you the advice to sleep when Kinsley naps Jenny, but have you got any wraps for baby wearing? I feel like these would be a god send to you, as I can see you're wanting her close to you - it means you can at least be hands free while doing chores in the house that you feel need doing (prepping for meals, juicing, tidying etc - whatever you feel you would like / are able to do), without worrying about putting Kinsley down mid sleep. Now you're getting the knack of breastfeeding a little better, she can also breastfeed while wrapped. As her mother Im sure you're aware you're the only person to warm her body temp up & cool her down, so I understand why you would want her close. X

I'm not a mom, but I am a nanny to two sweet little babies. My advice is to sleep whenever the baby sleeps! It's so hard when you have a dish full of sink, or things to clean up, laundry to fold, etc. As a nanny I don't need to nap every time the baby does because hey - I can go home. But on my 12+ hour days, i absolutely have to sleep when they do or else I'm a zombie, especially when I have overnights! xox
