Enjoy! This tutorial is part of the "Cinema 4D & Octane Render - Create Procedural Materials" playlist on youtube. Procedural Materials introduce non-destructive workflows with an endless amount of customization. You can create endless variations of existing materials by just tweaking sliders once it's setup. Thanks for sharing this procedural approach. Wonder if you have been using the universal material as well or if there are any big disadvantages when compared to a simple glossy material.
@TravisDavids4 жыл бұрын
My pleasure. I love the universal shader since it's combination of all of the material types. Honestly, i guess it depends what i'm doing i could use a universal material all the time if i wanted to but sometimes i just end up using the default glossy octane material. I guess the biggest advantage of the universal is that u can do more with it so if you're trying to create very complex shaders it's probably best to use it.

@@TravisDavids Yes, out of habbit I also often start with the diffuse, glossy or specular, although you can do everything the with the universal instead. I just wondered if the universal material has a performance impact, as it can do what the previous three can. Therefore there must be a performance loss, but maybe this is negligible ... Any thoughts?

我很喜欢你的教程,但是听不懂,只能懂大概,你的教程真的很好,就是没有中文字幕 I like your tutorial very much, but I don't understand it. I can only understand it roughly. Your tutorial is really good, but there are no Chinese subtitles.

I already have one, for skin, if you're interested but it's done in Cinema 4D. I don't have the octane plugin for Daz 3D unfortunately. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2Lbf2ywq9F2abM
