I'm new to this, but it helps to make a list to follow. This is what I like to do: Brush first to get the particles out. Dry cotton/fiber cloth + Qtips to remove old and dirty oil. I apply the cleaning, lubricant and protective oil (MPT brand) all over using latex gloves while removing any lint left by the Qtips and Cotton cloths. I apply drops of the MPT on the areas of friction. Assemble. Let it sit for a few minutes. Rack the slide a few times. Trigger and reset a few times. Clean any excess of oil with a fiber cloth until there is no more excess.

Travis thank you for this video. I’m late to the game on the firearm but just picked up the 365XL and love it. So much steadier than my p938 which could never really get quite right. Quick question for you on reassembly. Once I’ve put the slide back on and used the slide lock to keep it open. The moment I go to rotate the take down lever back into position, it automatically engages the slide lock and the slide jolts forward into a ready position. Instead, of what it looks like when you do it, where you rotate the take down lever and then are able to manually release the slide lock. Any thoughts on that? Thank you in advance for any insight. Thank you so much! I’m a new gun owner picked up the 365xl yesterday and learned a lot. I did it from book but still had questions. After watching im just still a bit confused on how much CLP/Oil to leave on it after cleaning. I know it’s good to keep some on but too much is also bad. My main concern is the spring. I have it set perfect but I’m not sure how the it is supposed to look on the outside or if it matters when it’s put back together. Is sideways oval or vertical oval good?
@travisp112 жыл бұрын
Just put a drop or two of CLP on a patch and wipe down the barrel and rails and you will be set. It’s ok to have a little extra oil on there when you get done and I have left firearms in the safe for years and the CLP is still there.
@travisp112 жыл бұрын
You may need to clarify which spring you are taking about. If it’s the recoil spring then it locks into the barrel and the spring should be horizontal from the side when you look at it.
@tylerdinoto82102 жыл бұрын
The other end of the circle piece of the guide rod. I put the spring in perfect everytime. Always goes back in right, but does the other end not the half moon side have to be placed a certain way?

Problem with CLP it can contaminate primers and try not to use it as much as possible. Should always clean the breach face upside down to prevent solvent and debris from entering the firing pin channel. I am getting back into shooting and just got a P365. 20 years ago I used Hoppes 9 Solvent and Hoppes 9 gun oil and just used that to clean my P365. I am looking to switch to the Clenzoil. Does that dry after you apply it or does it stay wet like Hoppes gun oil? Do you apply a little more Clenzoil if you are going to the range? Or do you apply another oil?
@travisp112 жыл бұрын
Is stays lubricated but isn’t wet like Safariland CLP. I have left guns in the safe for 6 months or more after being cleaned with Clenzoil and they run just fine. You could add a drop or two to moving or contact surfaces before a range trip. But unless you have a finnicky action in your firearm that requires a lot of oil, you should be good to go.
