I have both and I think you have a fair assessment of both of them. I would recommend either one of them. Out of the box, I will say the Kraton is probably more durable. That doesn’t really matter to me though, it’s not like any of us leave things stock anyway. Besides, there isn’t an RC out there that you can’t break. Traxxas support is definitely something to consider. I haven’t had to deal with horizon yet and I haven’t broken anything on my Kraton yet, but I can’t say anything bad about Traxxas support. If you’re a fanboy of one brand or the other get the car from the brand you prefer, if you can afford both, get both. They’re different enough to enjoy for different things.

I have none but am considering of buying one. I recently retired and this looks fun, so do you care describe how they are different? Without ever driving one other than a 30 dollar Walmart rc, this is what I think I want. I want to drive them over grass, sandy areas, snow, mud, medium jumps on dirt and plowed fields. I dont believe wheelies are exciting as I like control and steering control as in non formal racing as in this video, so lesser the wheeling and tumbling the better. I rank durability as a high category too and the ease of working on them. Thanks .

throw a coin , head for e revo and number for the kraton. It doesnt matter where it lands, but how it lets you feel. If you feel good about it, its the one you want more. if you feel kinda bad, take the other. This is how i decide between rc cars and i never regret it ! :)

Great comparison Mark! As a 6s kraton owner (blx not the exb)I can vouche that in order to make it super durable you have to shim the diffs, change the fluids, throw the chassis away, upgrade the towers, blah blah blah. It's a lot of work and MONEY to make it a bulletproof basher 😫

Good comparison and I would agree with everything except the customization category. It's true there may be more aftermarket bolt on parts for the erevo, but the fact that just about all of arrmas 6s vehicles are compatible with one another, you could essentially swap chassis/arms/body/wheels and have an entirely different vehicle. For example, it wouldn't take much to convert that kraton into a fireteam. Can't really do that with the erevo. Thanks for the video.

Excellent vid on these 2 RCs…. You forgot to mention that you can tune your E-Revo’s esc through the Traxxas App …. My experience with my E-Revo had been excellent…. To me …. The E-Revo is like an off/road Formula 1race car……the inboard shocks and the double A-Arms in my opinion are something Arrma doesn’t offer in any of their RCs …. Watching the suspension on the Revo is just awesome…..and the geometry of the suspension is in my opinion hands down better than the Kraton….. thanks for sharing……👍🏻👍🏻💯

Traxxas has a patent on that shock design and the reason arrma owned by horizon. Look up the arrma Nero it was pretty cool had 3 options to lock the diffs .

the Kraton should of won the customizability the Kraton has way more option parts than the e Revo M2C Just bash it rc custom rc upgrades schorched rc and GPM and Hot Racing all make parts for the Kraton as well as some other off brand ebay brand

@@Death2unicorns yea the all traxxas really offers for the e revo is different body’s the rear brace for it and the toe links and push rods that’s all and i should know what companies make upgrades for these models I have a traxxas E revo 2.0 and kraton and some other stuff (vorteks xmaxx mini e revo vxl) E Revo is definitely a lot faster than a kraton what I find kraton once it’s upgraded to be a lot more durable than the e revo

Great comparison. Tons of information. I own both of these as well. I’ve been a Traxxas fan boy most of my life, but my Kraton is probably my most favorite RC car. It’s fast, handles really well, jumps very good, I’ve had no problems with it. My Revo has had electronics problems, gone into thermal shutdown and just randomly shut off, and it rolls over easier than the Kraton. Nothin but love for Traxxas, but I’d give the W to Arrma and the Kraton on that on.

I've got the Erevo 2.0 and it is my favorite car that I own. I did buy it second-hand with minimal durability upgrades. But the only time I've broken it was when I drove in the snow and when I hit a stationary object. The only things that broke were the rocker arms and 1 pushrod. Oh and I did break the battery box hinges, but I slapped some duck and gorilla tape on there and fixed it. So I'd give the durability to the Erevo.

My Talion has the same understeer problem, there are some ways to tighten up the (non adjustable) servo saver which should help.

When I got back into the hobby, I started with traxxas. After several wanted to try an Arrma to see if I liked them but didnt want to have to buy different batteries and charger. But of course they made a sale and I evened out my collection thanks to a trx-ec3 connector so I can use the traxxas batteries in both. Traxxas makes good cars no matter the size but Arrmas sweet spot is the 6s models.

Owned an ERevo 2.0 for two years with ZERO problems. I’ve upgraded the toe links and push rods. Not because it needed it. Because I enjoy the hop up part of the hobby. Also added a Faster servo and limiting straps. Truck is a beast and Traxxas support is top notch. I just can’t get over the diff problems I’ve experienced before with Arma. Even today the first thing people need to do when buying an Arma is to swap out the diff fluid. To me that sucks and doesn’t represent an RTR.

The Kraton looks like it would be a blast to bash. I've had an E-Revo since they first came out. Though at that time, it was only used for racing. It's basically been a shelf queen for the last 10+ years. I think the comparison is a little flawed. Comparing a truck with a center diff vs a transmission isn't really fair IMHO. I think you should do a follow up video to breakdown each truck and explain the differences for those that may be new to the hobby.

Good comparison, As always both have pro’s and con’s. Now when it comes to customer service Traxxas is a A+, Horizon use to be when they had someone answer the phone. When they removed their contact number and went to submitting an email for anything I refuse to buying anything from them because it is a delayed cluster XXXX. I order horizon products from Amain now and get great product support from them that is just as good as Traxxas just not 24/7.

I love your Vids man, and this is just my silly opinion: Revo does not look like a true monster truck, body looks like silly unrealistic basic remote control car look. Actually it kinda looks like they cut a deal with Hyundai and Skittles and came up with a Rainbow Tiburon throwback 🤣. The Kraton doesn’t have a monster truck appeal either, Kraton looks more like a sport truck. IMO!! IMO!!

I've no experience with the e-revo but wouldn't argue against any of what you said. The Kraton is FUGLY. Wish it came with a body I liked better (meaning not having to buy one I like). As to aftermarket parts Traxxas does make loads though much are just different colour variations. ARRMA make no aftermarket parts that aren't just parts for the EXB versions that can be used on non-EXB versions. ARRMA is happy to let true aftermarket parts makers to fill that niche of the market. Fine but... shipping outside the USA is crazy expensive buying from them. Ordering from the likes of Amain brings reasonable shipping (but these aftermarket suppliers don't sell through the likes of Amain). AND aftermarket suppliers often (at least in the past) don't have all the parts you need so you are paying shipping several times for parts as they become available.

Gotta stop comparing arrma to Traxxas. Fueling the fire. 2 totally different vehicles one is a "monster truck" one is a truggy.... Traxxas limits every vehicle behind it's weak rtr ESCs that are made to force Traxxas batteries in your vehicle. Traxxas needs to come to 2020 and make a erevo roller and xmaxx roller, but than parts sales will drop. Look at Traxxas marketing to local hobby shops, they need X amount of space and if you carry our vehicles, you have to carry parts for them. They make trash and force hobby shops to give up store front area that is used for other brands. Common Traxxas, Give us a roller, or update your trash/limited electronics. First step after buying an xmaxx, rip out ESC and replace with hobby wing Max5/max6 or run Traxxas weak 35c 7600mah batteries....

Oh and not an arrma fan boy either, own 3 Traxxas(slash 1/16, rustler and stampede vxl 4x4) and 1 arrma(kraton v5) and a Dr10 team associated, won't ever buy a Traxxas bigger than 3s

@@Death2unicorns The short version is I ordered about 60 dollars worth of product and never received it. Horizon Balmes FedEx FedEx says it is horizons fault, either way, they refuse to make it right so I do my best to avoid anything horizon has their hands on. And you cant call and talk to them the only way they will communicate is through chat. I have been promised a call from the managers twice but it has been 6 weeks and no call yet and I doubt they will.
