Looks like a good truck but its a shame once again that that even when you pay Traxxas prices for a product that you still have to carry out many more upgrades to make it workable in the real world, there are many other alternatives at a much more cost friendly price point i would choose over this model for the same amount of fun.

That's fair. We've usually found Traxxas to be pretty consistently good, but the lack of fans is definitely a weak point on this one. Hopefully they'll listen to the customer feedback and add them in the future.

Thanks for this video bud. I ordered one should be here in a week but I'm definitely running on 2s until I get some rocket fans in

That motor needs to be on 4s for its full potential IMHO. The kv is too low for 3s.

you'd think for the 100s and 100s and 100s that traxxas charges for their RCs, they'd have done at least a small amount of testing to find out there's a heating issue. shame. one shouldn't have to immediately mod a new RC to use it in normal operation.
@bchobbies Жыл бұрын
Agreed, that does seem like an oversight. It almost feels like the deadline was moved up 80% of the way through the project and they had to rush it out, because the body and chassis clearly had a lot of care and thought put in, and then the drive system is just whatever they had lying around.

Not sure yet - that's up to the boss. Right now, the next video he wants me to do is on another R/C truck, the Team Associated MT10. There are several train videos I've got planned for my personal channel, but I just haven't had time to work on them.

Traxxas is such a rip off company. They provide the least with the highest cost. This truck is crazy expensive and they don't even add the body lights, xl540/esc fan, centre dif etc.

What’s a good brand that can take a beating for a newbie? $600-1k US Dollars max budget

While I see your point, we have found Traxxas to be among the best in terms of consistent, reliable build quality. They have a far lower rate of defective units than many other brands, especially Arrma and Axial, and their customer service is far better as well. In the time I've worked for BC Hobbies, I've seen at least a dozen defective Arrma and Axial vehicles, 2 or 3 Team Associated, and, to the best of my memory, only one Traxxas (a UDR with a cracked rear spool). We sell more of Traxxas than any other brand, so while the prices are a little on the high side, in most cases, I think they're worth it.

@@bchobbies what was defective with the other brands?
@bchobbies10 ай бұрын
@@jamesfranko5098 I remember a few examples. We got a batch of Arrma Vorteks BLXs, one of which was missing one wheel bearing, and another of which was missing four. (I showed this issue in our video on that truck.) There was also the Axial SCX10 III Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, nearly all of which had their dig shift servos adjusted wrong, which caused them to constantly push against the end stop and burn out within a few minutes of driving. The early Axial SCX24s also had a lot of bad USB battery chargers - they seem to have fixed that, but for the first few months, a huge number of them came back with faulty chargers. The vast majority of the defective products we've seen are from Horizon Hobby-owned brands. It's too bad, since they make some really cool stuff (we're particular fans of the 1/7 scale Arrma Infraction and Felony), but their quality control is all over the board.
