I have one of these in the black color. It's one of my favorite trucks. I recommend the center diff and replace those crappy shocks with the GTR's.

It’s on sale right now for $499. If you have a current slash, it’s about $200-325 to convert over depending on which model and if you buy the tires. An HCG with good components is the cheapest route, just need the LCG nerf bars, Raptor R body, chassis, battery holder and bumpers. The LCG needs the bulkheads, transmission pieces, driveshaft cover and drag link from the HCG, plus the chassis and battery holder. The diffs, suspension and electronics all comes over. Receiver box is the only wild card, this uses the LCG box but the others might work with adapters or mods.

RC Girl--the best option I can recommend for your Raptor R is to drop the VXL-4S ESC and 2400kv motor combo into the truck. It REALLY wakes it up. I never even ran it on the 3S system. I bought it and went straight to 4S.

Probably just needs a good fan and heat sink , 3s is plenty but if you go to 2400 kv you have gear little higher for the same speed or 4s , I don’t like to add weight with higher voltage if it’s not needed

I’m moving my mom, found original slash body , I bought the first 2wd slash 2008 . I slash was advanced fun and cheap . Earlier times we only had tamiya and race kits , the way I drove “ bashing “ wasn’t really a thing. . People were amazed. 50 mph truck flying all over place . Brushless was super expensive

Very cool truck, only things I’d, 4s lipo, upgrade the servo with a quicker one, and put some thick grease in the diffs.. it’ll be less wheel spinning

Some of these RC vehicles have some really good flexible plastic if not steel . There’s a plastic epoxy if it breaks if someone doesn’t know . I m guessing most into the hobby know about the plastic fox stuff 😂. Everythjng can be fixed if there is parts available . They should switch over to nylon gears and not plastic for those that use the brittle stuff . I haven’t bought one in years but have been into them since the 70 s when I was a kid and it just kept going . I don’t know what’s good now yet so checking out some channels . The drones are pretty fun and there is or was a drocon spacekey for $30 on Amazon down from $80 and a deerc d60 . Makes sure ya get the d60 , it’s on sale too and worthwhile do some good fun imho for a good price . If you like it spend 10x as much on a dji . The thing to keep in mind about drones is to go slow and low until the user is better acquainted then turn it up to top speed . Everyone loses them when they go out of range so they don’t go far unless a person pays . Great backyard or front yard fliers imo . So what brand has decent RC bashers ? Thanks

I had the slash 2wd given to me and the body is thicker then normal body as a longer chassis and body i want to build a rally car and those tires would look good what is the wheel base of that truck if u could please.....keep up great work and have a wonderful day.

I have been searching at the Traxxas site for the trx4 defender, and they have been sold out for a few weeks. Have you heard of a new version coming out due to the truck's age? I haven't come across any information, therefore I am asking around.

I haven't heard anything, however they tend to keep things pretty hush hush. I also have not seen them discontinue a TRX4 version yet so I'd guess more are coming soon

It flips that quick because I think 1. Its too fast. 2. The road surface is rocky rough terrain, the tyres get stuck on the rocks. So as it turns. The swing sideways motion due to the force created by the speed and weight of the speed and RC weight itself. 3. It's probably the height of the RC stance. As opposed to an Rc with more lower standing and wider body and cambered wheels base. It won't flip as easy as it has a lower centre of gravity. You can go straight on it full speed. Without flipping. But it has to be a slow speed for turning if you're running it on rough terrain if you want to avoid the flipping. On a smooth surface that rc will slide across if the turns are made on full speed. Other than that. It is a nice rc.

Need your help and input. I am the owner of Traxxas Raptor R. It is my 1st RC car. Love it, I am not a basher. Rather prefer high speed on gravel roads or asphalt. I like my Raptor especially when accelerating the car does not lift his front up. It drives crazy in drift during high speed. Hence I love it. However I was thinking to sell my Ford Raptor R (probably it's not cost effective). And buy a brand new Model TRAXXAS Maxx Slash 4WD VXL 6S 1/8. I think I would like to have more durable car. Do you think it's a good idea for such swap. Or it doesn't make any sense. Since my car is only 5 months old. Originally I was thinking of buying in March/ April 2nd car huge one and just keep my Traxxas Raptor R. Either TRAXXAS XRT ULTIMATE 8S 4WD 1/5 or ARRMA Kraton 8S BLX 4WD 1/5 RTR. When replacing Traxxas Raptor R with a brand new Maxx Slash 4WD VXL 6S 1/8. I don't want to loose Raptor R grip and handling at high speeds on gravel or asphalt surface. In your opinion does it make sense such move? Or I should just buy 2nd bigger car? I don't like when accelerating front of the car is lifting in the air like with XMaxx. I saw some video when new Maxx Slash 4WD VXL 6S is lifting as well. I don't have this kind of issues with Raptor R. Greetings from Poland.

Just chill with that thing. Control it properly. Smooth. Use the purpose of the speed control in it. In the past the RCs i played with didn't have speed control so they were one speed forward and backward. And that was immediate fast.
