In this video I take the Traxxas REVO survivor edition to the beach. We won't be tanning this time though! This revo is running an awesome .18 OS TZ pull-start motor and loves to hit second gear all day long. Lets do some runs at the beach, what could go wrong? Well, pretty much the worst thing that could happen to an internal combustion engine happened? I am currently working on the problem and we will not let the beach kill this Revo. Enjoy!!!

You need to get a Tub of WD40 and soak the whole Truck in it as to say , Should get rid of the Salt , Lucky you didn`t Seeze the Engine :) Put lots of WD40 and oil down the the piston head and you should be OK , You should be able just to take the Glow plug out , just remember to tighten up the Heat Exchanger in a Star fashion to get an even seal , Cool Vide Bud , nothing like Nitro and Salt in the morning to fight off Carona V ? , lol :) :-)

hey dude!! I was thinking just that myself. Pissed at myself for doing this, but it's fine. I'll fix it and we will try again. The real reason I didn't mount the body is also because I was planning on putting my GoPro on the chassis to record real time speed pass runs, just didn't get the chance to do so.

Saltwater has corrosive properties - it is good to rinse the engine, so as not to subject bearings to corrosion. In addition, internal combustion engines do not like water - due to lack of space for the piston, it could bend or break the connecting rod. What's more ... Once for fun, I sprayed a working 2t engine of my 50CC motorcycle with water. The cylinder shrunk (cooling rapidly by water) but the piston was still hot. Due to lack of slack, the piston ring broke and destroyed the entire piston and cylinder liner XD An expensive lesson, but now I avoid water not only on this motorcycle but also my two nitro buggies. I don't want to hurt them

One thing you have to watch out for when driving near the ocean, is not so much the salt water but the salt in the air. There is so much salt floating around in the air and that gets into the engine and the electronics. There's all kinds of stories of people flying RC airplanes over the ocean and they lose control of them because the Salt Air corrodes the small wiring in their servos. I know a Chevy dealership that has its lot right near the ocean, and all the new vehicles get rust on them very quickly underneath.

I picked up a steal of a deal $80 for a near mint condition HPI RS4 3 nitro touring car. It’ has the bmw m3 body and that thing is in very good condition too can’t wait to clean it up and run it a bit. Even has the 2 spd and ROTO start should be a lot of fun. I don’t have a ROTO start and they seem kind of hard to find. Any ideas on what I could use? A drill with a cut in half drive shafts of bone that fits or something? I did see Associated has a nice compact starter box for about 65 bucks CAD I could just go that route I guess

hey bro!! Sounds like you got way too much power!! LOL. Anyway, that's joke. The only thing you really need is a programmer for the ESC. If at all possible yo need to lower the "punch" setting. I always lower my punch setting with the Castle Link USB programmer, only for Castle ESC's ofcourse. Your remote can only lower your dual rate and exponential across the entire throttle range, what you need is to lower the "initial punch setting". Putting on a larger pinion will lower your initial torque too, but this is a really "dirty way" of getting what you want, cause it will put stress on the system and cause higher top speeds too.

Man i really want to play with my old revo 3.3 but the threads on the cooling block that hold the glow plug in are done and a new block cost like 60 bucks saving up for one after this vid for sure keep up the good work

hey buddy! what's up. It sound like you don't need a whole new engine block, you only need the cooling head. The glow plug the 3.3 threads directly into the cooling head. It's an easy fix. Make sure to run the glow plug brass washer in the future, it should prevent stripping the threads some.

@@hybrid32494 I've only been in nitro for a year. I watched countless videos on nitros, tuning, maintenance, breaking in, etc. I'm currently racing in my local rc race events held weekly. Learning the ropes on tight controls from the pro nitro racers. The majority of the rc guys here are mostly crawlers. Rock crawling, no offense is pretty cool in a scale realistic all terrain way. But nitro speed and the sound and smell of the engine. It's hard to go back to electric.

@@hybrid32494 thanks man, glad to be here and help the rc community out! well there is only two reasons to heat the case.. 1) pull the sleeve 2) pull the crank bearings.. could have definitely been avoided with some atf, after run, or wd40 cycled through.. 👍 i ran nitro outboard boats in namba for years! water is no big deal if cleaned out properly...🤟 we would pickle the engines in atf after the days races! and typically changed out crank bearings every half gallon.. bearings are cheaper than a scored sleeve and piston, along with a peppered head button..👍 if you want that engine to really scream raise the port timing in the sleeve and increase the induction window closing side.. raising port timing and increasing induction numbers will allow the engine to rev higher, possibly stepping up on the pipe a second stage.. although pipe length from the converging side may need to be shortened or lengthened to get it to double stage.. 🤟🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍 bubble volume in the .17cc range with a squish angle of 1.5* .008" head space and 30% nitro or higher..😎 ya, i kinda know a little about nitro..🤪 hard to see but that looks like a .18tz?

hey my dude! Thanks for watching. Lets see what we got. Can you tell if the 2-speed is shifting or not? First, check your slipper clutch nut which is on the spur gear shaft, make sure it's tight enough. Also it could be that your engine is very rich and it's just not getting the higher RPM range as it should. Try to turn the high speed needle clockwise (leaner) about 1/8 of a turn at a time, and give it a few passes. If your engine responds to the carb adjustments then you know it's too rich and getting too much fuel. Try these things, let me know, I'll respond back to you.

If I just did not do that cartwheel flip at the end, it would have been fine. Yes, there are special breather air filters with covers, ive seen them. Wonder how effective they are.

Hey bro I have a request. Yes I rewatch a lot of your vids. I’ll start here first. I have a Revo 3.3 that now has a 4.6 engine Forward and reverse Steele gears and more cool upgrades for the future. Can you please do a video or start looking more into vids about the Revo 3.3 transmission. I know ow there is gear sets that are full Steele kits BUT loosing reverse is not a factor I’m wanting Can you find the parts and do a video of a full Steele gear set Including forward and reverse. I know it’s possible I have the forward and reverse Steele gears. And if I find 2 last small drive gears I’ll have a full Steel set with reverse. Hoping to see this come to light. I’m doing this mod and I hope more people do it also. 👊😎🙏😊

Expect tons of slob and to be repairing parts often in that vehicle in the near future. Traxxas vehicles are notorious for play in the first place. After driving it in the sand he may as well replace everything the speeds and revolutions per minute that those plastic parts are moving can’t handle sand in them. I might consider driving on the wet sand with an electric cheaper car but I definitely would not have the body off and I wouldn’t push it. But hey if it gets in the hundred million viet he can buy 10 of them !!!
