How about taking a look at the next 2wd rc monster truck Traxxas released ? That should be a dirt cheap project if you don't mind doing more of a restomod rather then restoring it & could perhaps be given away to someone in the community or loaned out to people. The stampede, besides bodyshell, wheels & tires you can go into any hobby shop today & get parts that fits vintage & new stuff, as well as upgrades from RPM. Was just out running mine (Found a grave digger version without a bodyshell released around 2009 - 2011 with a 27 mhz receiver. It was missing parts like the steering servo, some bolts & servo saver which cost me like 16$ in total to get it up & running.) Bought a pre-painted bigfoot bodyshell for it which is part number 3643. Brushless 3300 kv system running 3s with a 16t pinion on the motor & stock 90t spur, motor can get a bit hot running this but i get like 20 - 25 minutes of probably close to 40 mph top speed still with this motor & gearing. Recently upgraded the idler gear attached to the same shaft as the spur gear to the stronger drag slash version. As that somehow broke the pin before i managed to break the plastic driveshafts on it funnily enough.

@@Mini-z1994 Hey there bud, so that would not be the goal for me lol! So the point of the video as it was to pay homage but create another Robo jailer Sledgehammer as David’s. Like I did with other rc vehicles from movies not create something else. Nothing wrong with making something else and being creative but not the point of the video. I wanted that version from the magazine as many kids did so I showed how it was done and if someone else would like it they could now. Peace luv happiness.👌

You set the bar high on this piece of rc history! Back in the day RC Car action magazine was all I could buy at the time.
