A really thorough but concise vid on the differences between two 'similar' rigs, very useful for people trying to decide between the two. Well done.

@@OverBudgetRC really? Usually the fronts go out first because the slipper clutch sends more power to the front wheels, your situation is a little unique
@OverBudgetRC3 жыл бұрын
@@LandenDenham a center diff would send more power to the front but a slipper clutch is even power front and rear
@LandenDenham3 жыл бұрын
@@OverBudgetRC oh, I ordered a slipper clutch eliminator (not a centre diff) so hopefully that will send equal power to the front and back without having to change pads
@OverBudgetRC3 жыл бұрын
@@LandenDenham Yes that will send equal power too If it doesn't you may have another issue have you ever changed the front or rear diffs if one is different that will cause issues. Also check your rear diff and make sure its working properly.

Ya and even the bulkheads are different bet didn’t know that
@OverBudgetRC Жыл бұрын
They are only different between the first and second gen rustler 4x4 not between the xl5 and vxl. They changed it with the newer chassis that holds the longer battery. For a short time the vxl had the updated chassis so there was a difference for a couple months but they are the same again. The old rustler 4x4 could only hold 7 cell hump packs now they can hold the 7 cell flat packs. I also have a video of how to swap to the newer style chassis which includes using the newer bulkhead otherwise the new chassis won't fit.

I want to start with the offroad rcs(together with my bonus son) you are talking about upgrading, like how much more can you upgrade? and is it easy to find parts to do so and find a way to tune them like you want?!
@OverBudgetRC Жыл бұрын
I have some build videos of the rustler 4x4 upgrades there is a playlist with all of them. Most people upgrade their RCs when stuff breaks they install better parts so that wont break again. There is a lot that can be upgraded probably every part can be upgraded but thats to the extreme. A lot of people upgrade spindles to aluminum and maybe axles to stronger steel ones

Very informative. Thankyou. Is there any way to use the nimh humped batteries in the brushed cheaper one? The battery cover strap looks like it makes it incompatible?
@OverBudgetRC3 жыл бұрын
Thank you The old style chassis worked with the hump style packs but the new ones don't but they may fit with the taller battery strap i will test it when i get home from work and let you know.

@@OverBudgetRC Thankyou 👍👍
@OverBudgetRC3 жыл бұрын
@@rc-dom-uk So i just checked with the taller battery posts it still isn't tall enough. With the stock battery strap upside down it is way too high you could possibly add some foam to it. Or another possible way is to get the taller strap get longer screws and add some washers or spacers between the chassis and battery strap mount. But neither way will work without modifications.

Bro I got the 4x4 thinking the Vxl difference is just the brushless system going to upgrade it to a different brand for brushless
@OverBudgetRC2 жыл бұрын
Ya there are more differences than people realize. But I would have done the same but when I bought mine they didn't have the brushed version yet and I didn't know it was coming out. They released that 2 months later so I ended up with the Vxl.

Depends on your budget if you can afford the VXL I would get it if not you can get the XL5 and upgrade to brushless later. Or if you are like me and upgrade everything right away then get the XL5 and start upgrading. But either way you can't go wrong.

Adding power could make items break easier but if you just want to do brushless for cheap you can add something like this amzn.to/3ZGX2Cp But what I would get but it cost more is this esc amzn.to/40UJzrE and with this motor amzn.to/430mSUO

Does the different servo provide a lot more top speed or no
@OverBudgetRC Жыл бұрын
The servo just controls the steering so the vxl has faster steering with the better servo The motor and speed control is what will give you more top speed and it would make a big difference.
