I'll take a solid, informative review, like this one, from a regular guy speaking from personal experience over some obnoxious, in-your-face video with obligatory heavy metal soundtrack any day. I got my slash in 2012 and over the years upgraded it to a 6s racking monster. I even won a few higher class races here in Germany. Even though I probably replaced every part at least 3 times I love the slash and I think it’s one of the best cars to progress on and get into racing.

Nice track in your yard. Thinking of doing a track in my yard. Just retired and need a new project. Let's see if the wife will approve me digging up the yard. Maybe get her a car and get her involved. I have already cut the grass low and made an makeshift track and 2 jumps out of plywood. Having a blast. Thanks for the idea's.

I have had mine for 6 years. I started doing body reinforcement years ago. Just get drywall tape, the mesh style with self adhesive and apply in weak areas of body before you tear up and put a thin coating of shoe goo and let it dry overnight. I have a buggy body is have had that has held together for over 5 years. Let me kiss if you have any questions.
@tooleyzrc19732 жыл бұрын
To reinforce your body shell you could use shoe Goo and drywall mesh tape. The grey stuff used on Hardy backer seams for shower stall construction works best. It's in the same section as the regular stuff. You need to cut the drywall mesh tape into strips Stick it to the inside of your clean body and then spread shoe Goo on top of it and let it dry. Once it's dry for extra measure you could brush on electricians liquid rubber. I do this to all my body shells and they are practically indestructible.

Drywall mesh tape. It cuts easily with scissors & has a sticky back so lines the inside nicely then put a nitrile glove on & squeeze some clear Shoe Goo onto your finger & start spreading it all over the mesh tape working it down into all the open spaces. It makes them like 30x stronger & will repair your cracked up body get more time out of it for sure. I do it to mine before I ever run them. Stuff will stink for about two days so let it vent outside or in the garage lol. It's pretty potent stuff at first.

This is the best RC car video I have seen and I have watched hundreds of videos lately. My kids and I just got the rustler 4x4 vxl buggies about 3 weeks ago. We use our vehicles in scarily similar ways (we were at a skate park today). The vehicles will take an absolute beating and keep on rolling. I am curious if you have had many problems with the ultra shocks. We have had a number of different issues, leaking, top popping off, and the most frustrating the spring keeper falling out. I feel like I need to keep a pocketful of spring keepers. I finally got tired of searching for the spring keepers that I grabbed the GTR shocks. I will also be purchasing the chassis stiffener as we have smashed a couple of batteries.... and like you mention should keep us out of bent driveshaft territory. Thanks again for a wonderfully done video sir.

I use a 2 part epoxy product made by West System, called "G-Flex" to repair my bodies when they crack. It works with most plastics and is made to be able to flex. I originally got it to permanently repair a hole in a canoe, I had a bunch left over afterward and tried it on my Slash bodies. None of them have ever broken again where they were repaired. It comes in different consistencies, I used the 655. It cures mostly clear and is sandable and paintable, and if anyone does try it, be sure to use it on the outside of your truck body since it adheres best to paint-free surfaces. Cheers!

@@rileyhance318 Beciae they are made by the same company so they should be nearly as though i quess? also your initial comment was rustler has a-arms and longer shocks so as the slash it the suspension works better on the rustler that could be a reason why the rustler body holds up better.
