hey man! I'm glad you made a dedicated video on this, to be honest the first time I noticed the spinning Spur on the 2.5 classic model I was baffled, lol. There is almost no info on this "gear protection" feature online. ONly way to overcome the jerkiness upon acceleration is just to accelerate faster, otherwise there is nothing you can do. I also noticed on all my older 2.5 models the SPUR is almost always slightly crooked as it spins on the shaft. Doesn't damage it, but just surprising to see.

Thanks I agree when I was told it wasn’t supposed to spin I looked everywhere to see why mine was spinning and noticed that it has to spin to fling the inside weights and then noticed the 3.3 was way different..I’d love to see you do a video on this as you know them way better then I do , I just wanted to get the basic information out there so I would get the information out to those asking me to fix something that’s not broken from what I’ve learned..glad I had a chance to see both in front of me as I’m learning more everyday I tinker with them ..thanks for all the help as I’ve watched a lot of your old videos for this information as well 👍👍

Yes many were telling me to lower the idle to stop it from spinning but I noticed it was way different then the new 3.3 👍👍

Watching your Nitro series, it’s obvious Nitro RCs are more of a hands on, attention to details over the Electric RCs. For me I find Nitro more entertaining to watch but Electric is more my cup of tea. Enjoying the series. 👍💯

You can put the reverse in a 4907 3.3 T-Maxx, I have it in there, same deal with it going in and out of gear though, I’ve found that sanding the knobs on the synchros seems to to help, as well as using the linkage off a 2.5. I’m also putting in the opti-drive, as my main problem when shifting is there almost always seems to be a little bit of power to the transmission, even if it’s not moving. And that inhibits it from shifting
@mitymike2 жыл бұрын
Ive learned through the years of having a 2.5 t maxx that it is best to lower the idle as much as possible and when you shift to reverse or forward blip the throttle a little, when it drops below idle hit the switch. It should shift much easier

You hear about the RB mods connecting rod for these engines. There a must for engine longevity I’ve heard good things. 😎🤘
@earlmoorhead55552 жыл бұрын
I hear the newer 2.5 and 3.3 rods are weak 👍
@rcsendandblast15792 жыл бұрын
@@earlmoorhead5555 They are weak from 1980 or the 90’s whenever they were made. That never changed The 2.5 is what the rod is spec to not the 3.3 The extra power eats up the rods fast I split them down the Center just like what is said to happen to them. Anyways there won’t be a lot of them rods being made so I would jump on it if I were you. There is a order happening right now and I hear it may be his last time doing this.

guess you have to decide if you want reverse or more durability in the tranny. I would probably chose reverse.

Is there a way to reach out to you by email? I had some questions about a few products from game changer that I'm wanting to get but am unsure of what it is I need. I've been to his ebay store and there are many options. I know what I want or what it is I'm trying to do but don't know which products I need to get me there. Thanks

Game changer knows everything I use as he send the stuff he’s very helpful as for me I use only KZbin 👍
@taurus35742 жыл бұрын
Bingo that's your problem, your idle is too high and it's engaging the tranny but the 2.5 should have had later stall than the .15, design flaw
@earlmoorhead55552 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t act up till I try and stop then surging two or three times and stops idles with no issues then I drive and everytime I hit the brakes it surges a couple of times and then it’s fine can’t lower the idle any more and as I’ve seen it’s everyone of them 💯💯
