I personally think with the 24th market being dominated by Axial Scx24 makes this is a genuinely genius move, the only capable and competent 1/18ths I've ran with a good degree of customization was the wpl rcs but this is genuinely smart move from traxxas as the 1/18th market is still so quiet and because their amazing for kids to learn with and for adults to mod the crap out of and have fun but unlike the scx24s the 1/18th scale is a little better suited outdoors much much more versatile than all the other mini crawler options, Looking forward to trying it out

yeah i mean its the same wheel base as the gladiator at 155mm so i mean toss a gladiator body on it and now its a "1/24"

Nice! Best info I have seen on it today! Great job Matt. I bet these will be awesome. The FMS 1/18s can be with some ingenuity and modding, but it looks like Traxxas has taken the guess work out of aftermarket or upgrading. Nice they are pushing out all the option parts at release… or at least soon after.

Performance wise, these rigs look like they will be amazing. Hopefully they will offer inner fenders and a interior like FMS does even if its a shallow one. Other than that, I think the acessories look amazing!

[edited for spelling/grammar] I really want one of these with a trailer that I can fit my LaTrax Rally on Also, I absolutely love the Traxxas ID battery that I’ve got in my LaTrax, but only because it charges fast and has a great runtime (it’s also a Traxxas ID Lipo and not stock Nimh, which holds back nearly every small scale car out the box with mediocre run time and slow charging)

Saw this announcement yesterday. To be honest, I was disappointed that they went with 18th instead of 24th since all the mini courses are built for 24th. Maybe they expect everyone will switch to 18th since they're traxxas 🤷‍♂️ Still, same as you, ordering one of each 😂

I am definitely interested, finally a Ford body. Hopefully Furitek jumps right on the opportunity. I rarely try to run my RCs into water, I live in SoCal, where natural water is practically an oxymoron so when it comes electronics I am more interested in performance than it being water proof.

Not too too much new in terms of the platform. Oil filled shocks are cool but we’ll have to wait and see if they’re any good or not. The pro scale light kit for the bronco looks sweet though, 25$ and it’ll have the exact same lights as my 21 trx4 bronco, aka it’s big brother 😁 the tires could also be pretty good… they have a few optional sets that look promising

Man... idk about this one. No portals, single speed transmission, reused body options etc etc. After all this time I was hoping for so much more from Traxxas. I do like gearing options in the trans but feel like either replacing the gear set or getting different trans missions is a rather wasteful endeavor. All in all, solid truck, but was looking for something more advanced even at a higher price point.

Do you have any of the FMS/EazyRC hard body 1/18s? Those have CVDs with a decent steering angle. I'm wondering how much more the Traxxas is as I don't think it is as much. It's definitely more than other RCs with dog bones however. The mini Traxxas looks awesome, Traxxas is known for durability and the brand name will bring aftermarket support however I don't know that I see anything game-changing yet. I do like the 155 mm wheelbase because there are already a few hard body and lexan options in and around that wheelbase.

I like this style video, but i am kind of disappointed in the release... it seems like traxxas is playing it to... safe. I would have assumed that Traxxas would drop something more like the fcx24, rather than just take a simple rig and make it pretty in a different scale.

I think axial will definitely get to work on a new model! This trx4 will be a great truck but I think it’ll be more of a scaler out of the box and maybe not quite as good as the fcx but who knows! I think the electronics and stuff will definitely match up to the fcx since it’s Traxxas.
