You can't help but turn into a kid while driving these things, I got a 2wd Traxxas Stampede to start out with for me and my son to play with...and since the first time we took it out of the box I STILL warp back to when I was 10 while driving it. Great hobby to pick up for sure, we have an absolute BLAST driving it around!

I just finished my slash drive train rebuild. I had thought it was running okay, but as I took it apart I noticed half the bearings were worn out or outright seized. Took about 12 hours and a little under $100 in parts (And upgrades), but every single bearing has been replaced and now it runs absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend a yearly rebuild. You can do it in a quarter of the time and half the money if you aren't as meticulous in cleaning and don't want to do any upgrades. Completely worth it for being able to run in wet conditions imho.

About 5 years ago I had a stampede vxl 4x4 and I drove it so hard and broke the A-arms, axle, broke the body and I was only 11 years old but it was only on a 3000mah nimh. So, how many things have you broken on your slash and xmaxx? I want to get into rc again but I want to know how hard I can run these things before they break.

Anakin Skywalker about 45 min to an hour and yes it’s a very good starter and has lots of modification options. It’s also super tough.

AWESOME! I always wonder how many batteries people go through in these videos. Seems like an lot of driving going on and as far as I understand you only get limited minutes on battery charges. I would like to get into RC but haven't gotten anyone to give me some good advise on where to start. Thinking Traxxis Stampede VXL or Traxxas Rustler VXL. I would be used in parks, grass, dirt, some jumping, "bashing" etc, don't think I want to do any racing. Thanks.

Get the stampede vxl man that ones really cool :) and the reason they can go so long is that they use LiPo batteries which can last up to 20-30 minutes one charge

It’s all about the tires, if you use sandpaddels on the Slash it goes though this like butter ! The standard tires that come with the Slash are trash, maybe good for onroad but for everything else... Also you should raise the Slash‘s Suspension!

Xbox and PlayStation controllers use IR not radio waves, so they can't be used to control a car, unless you can retro fit a radio transmitter somehow.
