Facts. Kobe and Ron Artest even said he was the hardest person to guard before. Back then it was Kobe, Wade, Roy as the best SG's in the late 00's and early 10's pretty unanimously. I was at this game and by the end, strangers were hugging each other and near crying from such a miracle comeback... Dallas was unstoppable on their way to a Championship but Portland played them so tough throughout the series.

As a Mavs fan, I gotta say... so after this game we go on and win this series..then have to go through KD and Westbrook..then Kobe and the Lakers..then eventually, against all odds, we win the Championship over the first year Lebron/DWade/Bosh superteam...that's an insane journey with so many moments. Here in 2020, almost 10 years later, let me say..this right here, what Brandon Roy did..this was the most helpless and sick to my stomach 20 or so minutes of that entire run to the Championship. What Dirk and them did during that run was magic, they had an answer for everyone..KD..Russ..Kobe..Lebron.. D-Wade..there were nervous times but we always came out on top..but this..oh, hell no. I remember thinking this isn't even normal behavior..this is a dude who could have been a superstar but he knows his knees are done..he knows his time is almost up..and hes choosing THIS moment to be his swan song. This moment to lay his basketball soul down...Shit. We never had a chance 🤷‍♂️

This game is one of the most bittersweet things I've ever seen. Roy was almost completely sapped of his talent at this point, you can hear the announcers talking about how Roy was slowing fading away as the injuries piled up. Roy knew this but the fact that he was able to muster everything he had left for this spectacular moment should make this iconic. Putting everything on the line even when his body was failing him. Roy loved the city of Portland and the city loved him. Most importantly though, Roy loved basketball with all his heart. Even if he knew this was going to be his last hurrah, he made the most of it :)

God I was SOOOOOOO good with this team in 2K lol but BRoy was always my guy I remember watching this live at home being so close to turning it off then I saw he came in. I just wanted to see him play again and didn’t really expect a whole lot but man was I glad I got to watch this whole thing happen.
