Shakir biggest asset is his understanding of distance, his range game on point… he not even defending half of these shots he just letting them fall short, his feet are always perfect for the situation he is in. Class.

I became a Shakur fan early on as I hail from Newark, NJ. I was at this fight ringside 3rd row. Great fight....Shakur dominated. He has improved so much and has gotten bigger and stronger. His ring IQ is one of the best boxers I have seen. His fight against Herring really showed this kid is destined for greatness. The best is yet to come.

That young man has a rare talent - it's refreshing to see the lost art of true defensive boxing. He barely broke sweat against a strong opponent. With a defense like that he is rarely going to get hurt. He has the opportunity to dominate for years and retire rich and healthy.

Feel like it is underdiscussed how much less energy Shakur uses than his opponents over the course of most fights - nothing wasted, he has graceful, economical footwork, he uses a soft jab for range-finding and blinding, doesnt throw when he doesnt have something to throw at, and he's setting the distance such that his opponents are always hustling in, and out, and trying to find a place to set up to attack. Gonzalez is burning tank allll fight with these exaggerated feints, and crashing in when he's not even ready to throw, bc he has no confidence about where Shakur is going to be when he does. But Shakur is moving much less, most of the time.

*This fight not the Herring fight is Shakur's best performance imo! Why? Because although Herring is a better win because of who he is (& he'd likely beat Joet as well.) Shakur looked more difficult to beat on this night imo. 🤷🏽‍♂️*

Not even close, Shakur took it easy on Joet that night. He was not on full display. Against Herring he showed a lil bit of everything and Herring was the more difficult challenge for him

Tank only fights Mexican styled fighters, he would struggle against and elusive/slick fighter like Shakur.
