The music video follows the story of a Korean pro-player named Deft. He struggled for years to win the world championship after so many tries, and finally last year he won with DRX over the greatest player of all-time, Faker. They really showed the climb and grind of his career well and the song is so fire!

Yes@@ezlananwar9572 It is more than that though, Faker and Deft were from the same school and while deft was still getting into it Faker had already won the world championship so he was always in Faker's shadow until he finally was able to win with his team DRX last year.

The MV is the story of Deft going from a student to playing League of Legends at home to all of his struggles across multiple teams before finally winning the World Championship last year with DRX. They even reference his relationship with Keria in the MV. Keria was his long time lane partner, and they show Keria putting up the shield to save Deft. The next time we see Keria he is now on T1 playing alongside Faker and competing against Deft.

Riot didn't choose NewJeans on a whim they absolutely knew what NewJeans is capable of. They had dozens of artists to choose from!!! They observed the potential in this group. They could have went the easy route but they picked NewJeans. I respect that, and I respect that we got to see another side to these girls. They have got some haters, but with the amount of views, likes, reactions, and comments praising them, I think they picked the right group, and they did an amazing job! NewJeans conveyed the message and feelings of the story without being over the top or excessive, and Riot chose the perfect story, Deft's career leading up to winning the worlds 2022, and the perfect hype song leading up to worlds 2023.

And for another group you've mentioned, BTS and Blackpink are already huge enough to take this deal. Riot surely has a dozen contacts to negotiate with, but right now, NewJeans is their best choice since they're one of those artists dominating right now. And also, of course, a company as big as Riot will choose what's best for the business or market. Because, as you know, the game is kind of dying in some countries-not really dying; I mean, the popularity is really decreasing in some countries. You know, this is also some kind of strategy to generate hype. This is also why KDA was born in the first place: to create hype for their game and promote the game to non-league viewers and listeners. Riot knew what they're doing.

This MV is remarkable - from the symphonic backing and structure, the fact that NewJeans are widening their singing techniques and genres, and the video telling the story of Deft and Faker (attended the same school), Deft nearly giving up thinking he could win a World Series and stopping playing (the song bridge section) , to the story of last year when Deft and Team DRX came through and beat the top team T1 (and Faker). The song has game related lyrics but also covers Deft when they use "underdog" . Very inspirational and epic, showing how Deft used his belief and strength to earn his dream and become that "God" at World Series level. The World Finals are in Korea this year hence very apt use of NJ - the Final games are 12th November, I think ,so sure we will get a NJ live appearance/version !!

League of Legends has been hit-or-miss when it comes to Worlds songs, but in my opinion this one easily slides into the Top 5 or Top 4. It's a really solid mix of blending in one of the trendiest groups out there right now together with the sound that a world championship event should have. NewJeans killed it and I perfectly see why they've been consistent in reaching global stardom (aside from their banger tracks lol)

The video is about Deft, a legendary adc player from Korea. He's widely recognised as one of the best, if not the best, adc of all time. But he just couldn't win the world's championship for 9 years, until 2022 when it finally happened with DRX. The story follows him, from his high school days (he went to school with Faker), moving from one team to another, playing with different teammates and making friends, until he has to play against them in 2022 during the championship. Their world's run in 2022 was like a movie plot. They barely made it to play ins, only to have to beat other regions to advance to the group stage, then to knockout stage, and each and every game they were the underdog in the matchup. No one thought they would win. But in the end they did. And it was an unbelievable experience to watch. The players depicted in the video have weapons and movesets of characters they played in the matches. If you're into this type of music, and want to watch these types of videos from League, you can check out Rise from World's 2018, Take over from World's 2020, Burn it down from Worlds 2021 and Starwalking from World's 2022. But Rise is the most hype one in my opinion.

the story EPIC, the music EPIC ! the backstory about DEFT Journey (the protagonist in this mv) he's last year winner with his team DRX which is the underdog team. yes all in the animations are real pro-players

In addition to the background behind the concept of the m/v, there are different scenes that were specifically made to be much more dramatic because in the mv, the main player (deft) was seen fighting other players and losing to them, most of them being his old teammates and that one scene where a teammate of him sacrificed himself (that player was Keria), basically he was teammates with him and he promised deft that he will win him a world championship. He was able to win him one, not as his teammate but as his enemy, as seen in one of the scenes where he was fighting against a player with the green spell looking thingy (that was his former teammate keria who was in the earlier scene that sacrificed himself) and he was up against him from another team in the grand finals which won them worlds. Also Faker, arguably the best league of legends pro player, was shown two times, first in the scene where he was fighting the big snake monster and the other which was the final battle, so he had to face the person he sort of look up to as the final boss which was the best of the best to become the world champion.

riot has three types of videos. cinematics, those tell about lore or a story going on at the moment. music videos, those are showing off skins and their worlds. worlds are hype videos for their championship tourny and they showcase the players. this one was about a player named DEFT who has been playing 10 years now and the struggle he has gone through to last year when he finally won. i cut it short but its a great story if you ever want to read about it.

Even thought I think they might have got the wrong artist for this song , I have to tip my hat for NewJeans for making the best of it. So there are 10 World songs now and alot of people are saying it's around top 5, which would give it an average rating. But you can judge both the animation/story and the song itself. So song to me is Top 4 or higher (I want to rewatch the others) but video is Top 2. I love when they add players to the video, it really does show a bit of respect to them and the time they put in. Ok looking up your history it looks like the only other league song you heard was K/DA but, each anthem is always completely different from the others that is why there is so much love and hate with the songs. That being said there are a few such as Rise and Legends Never Die that continue to overshadow the new songs. Loved the reaction and hope there will be more Riot game music in the future!

So the video is based on of a Pro Esport player Deft. He started LoL the same time as Faker (a kid he went to highschool with), in 2013 Both Faker and Deft debuted onto the top Korean league but Faker peaked way faster than Deft (Faker won 3 world titles, and 2 winner tournament titles. which is the most any player has ever won internationally). Deft in the following year (2014) had to face his old teammate PawN in the World Championship Semifinals. Where He would lose 0-3 in a Bo5 series. Deft would then move from his home country of Korea to China for 2 years onto a Team called EDG, with his closest teammate on that team in a chinese player named Meiko, He would then lose to an EU team called Fnatic 0-3. Then this would be the beginning of a 8 years curse of a quarterfinals exit. Then Deft push back onto his chair in a timeskip while being attacked by abilities of ingame characters that he lost to. The most notably I noticed was him getting hit by purple feathers. Which is a reference to Deft losing in 2018 by a chinese team called Invictus Gaming who had a young prodigy called Jackeylove. Who was the reason for his team downfall that year. Then he pull back to his computer (this is him confident into 2020). He would then go into a quarterfinals matchup of the Korean domestic Summer split finals (there are 2 splits, Spring and Summer; both split are domestic for all parts of the world). Deft would then lose 0-3 to Damwon who then went on to hoist the cup that year. Deft then falls through glass crying. This is him knowing his mandatory military service is coming closer and he is stuck in quarterfinal finishes. He is then hoisted by the team he left at the in of 2020 (he joined another team for 2021 but came back to the team he was on for 2020, for his last season of 2022). He then went onto DRX for his final season, as he said if he didnt win the cup for 2022, he would definitely retire and do his mandatory service (which is a career death sentence for a pro esports player). He managed to make quarterfinals like always but faces his old team EDG with his old teammate Meiko who won the 2021 World Championship. He manages to reverse sweep them (the second time every a reverse sweep happened in this tournament history, and on Deft's birthday no less). In the semifinals he had to go through 2 of his old teammates in Chovy and Doran from 2020 (Doran is the one in the video) where he took down 3-1 moving onto the finals. And in the finals, Deft had to go through another familiar face. Keria who promised Deft to win the cup with him had to break that promise. Then Faker shows up who Keria is on a team with. The same kid from 10 years ago from the same highschool. Deft would then complete the miracle run from the worst team korea sent to worlds. Deft would then finally hoist the cup he longed for ever since he debuted with the same kid as Faker (who is widely consider as the GOAT of LoL). The Deft Last Dance Miracle run is something Im glad I was behind on. Because Deft 2022 Miracle was 1 of the most hardest runs for a team. They had to go through the Winners tournament champions, EU Champions, The best year long Chinese team (second best region at the time), Vietnam Champions, Defending Champions, Korea Newest Champions, and the best ever team in LoL history, Who is the only team who ever went 18-0 in Korea (best region in LoL history) T1, Deft run was a pure Miracle run for the ages in any sports story tbh.

From pov of liking both riot's song and nj, i agree with people that saying this is not that hype cause compared to the previous worlds song... this one is kinda weak.
