If your Tundra is never going to leave the road then this is a great addition. If you have a 4x4 and plan on doing anything off road you do not want to install a sway bar, because it limits the ability for flex in the frame and movement in your tires.
@baio18 Жыл бұрын
you can always disconnect the end links and you have your flex back. can do them with the heldwig sway bars on the tacoma. takes 10 mins

how much impact will this make in off road situations? I'm looking at installing these on my truck but hunt/camp on unmaintained dirt roads 30ish days a rear. I don't have much context for the range of travel i should expect with these sway bar links. thanks
@turdferguson5300 Жыл бұрын
Austin according to my directions you don't use the last washer on the top end links if you have the factory hitch. The spacer actually fits inside the hitch bracket against the frame and the end links hang straight. They are designed to hang straight by the way the bushings are installed. You had it right the first time but it can be easily corrected. Love the videos, thanks.

Makes the truck feel more planted on the road which is where I drive the majority of the time. Rock crawlers will not like sway bars but for the majority they are great.

I agree, I didn't buy a TRD Pro to beat it up on rocks. Its giona be primarily a Pavement Princess. I don't think the Pro needed a rear sway bar but it looks cool. It screws up the ride if you put a heavy bar on the front. Toyota got the Fox suspension right. My wife has a Lexus RS350 that doesn't ride as well as my truck.

The front sway bar is thicker making it stiffer. Great video. Would not be without my front and rear.
@duncanarnold40193 жыл бұрын
Hate to be the one to point this out Austin, but you made a mistake. You SHOULD have 2 unused washers if your Tundra has the OEM hitch installed (yours does). You only use those 2 ‘Upper End Link Auxiliary Washers’ if your vehicle doesn’t have the OEM hitch. It’s spelled out pretty clear in the instructions and they even provide a photo. The order for installing the hardware is M14 bolt, washer, end link, washer, M14 spacer.

I normally put stock tires (the thin ones for steel wheels) for noise and comfort and AT tires during winter and pulling a cargo trailer. Let us know if you feel it makes the back end more jittery. I had the sway-bar then put the trd pro suspension , the back end is still a little jittery, wondering if it is just the strait rear axle or the sway bar.
@kccreations59453 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure that it would have made it more jittery since it's not attached to the wheels or leaf springs so that may just be a product of the stiff rear end. But it definitely tightens it up for cornering so I don't get as much roll, and that's nice!
@stevieray18283 жыл бұрын
Did you take the sway bar off to see if the pro suspension works better without it? I am contemplating removing mine since upgrading my suspension to improve smoothness on road bumps.
@livingadreamlife14282 жыл бұрын
The Sway Bar doesn’t work as well with the TRD Pro Suspension. It prohibits the Pro suspension from actually doing what it’s designed to do. Non Pro suspension owners will benefit from a sway bar though.
